  • The Sound of Music

    Funded Oct 11, 2012

Where do I even begin to thank you all for bringing so much more music into our classroom? The new collection of CD's that we received have been so much fun! And, more importantly, they have allowed me to teach the children even more!

This particular collection of CD's has so many themes and educational ties that it has been easy to incorporate them into our everyday lessons.

We recently began welcoming some pre-school students into our morning meeting time and they have also responded so well to the familiar tunes.

Again, thank you so much for your donation and your support in bringing more music into the classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Numerical Thinking

    Funded Aug 21, 2012

Thank you so very much for these materials that you so generously provided for the children in my classroom! The children had so much fun using the fishing poles to fish for numbers.

What they didn't realize as they were so entertained, it that there was so much learning taking place! I asked the children to fish for certain numbers and then they had to fish and tell me the number. They also had to match quantities of those numbers.

These materials went so far in my ability to teach these future mathematicians all about the basics of number sense. We are working this year with new math standards so these materials made deeper instruction and deeper learning possible!

    Thank you again, so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Count With Me 1 2 3

    Funded Apr 30, 2012

In the past few weeks, we wrapped up our first math unit on Number Sense and I am thrilled to report back to you the positive impact you had on my kindergarten students. Because of your generosity, these materials aided me in giving my 5 and 6 year olds a better and deeper understanding of what number sense is all about.

The children used these games and kits during Guided Math Groups and on their own during Math Centers. They not only had tons of fun, but they mastered the skills necessary to move on to the next unit.

Thank you so much for your support of my classroom, my students, mathematics instruction and public education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • How Do You Measure Up?

    Funded Dec 5, 2011

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to this project. I must say, when the materials arrived, I was so excited and the children were thrilled! I thought we would only be utilizing these hands on math centers during our measurement unit, but we have used them so many times since then for more practice and review.

Having these materials made such a positive impact on the way my students learned about measurement. They were able to measure with nonstandard units and compare the lengths of many different items. They were able to use these materials with teacher support as well as independently.

Thank you so much for helping me put these materials in the hands of my eager students! Your donations have made a difference in the mathematical lives of these students. This learning will stay with them for years to come! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Manipulative Mania

    Funded Dec 1, 2011

I want to thank you from the bottom of my teaching heart for the donations that you made to this project! I don't think words can even express how much it means for me to have gotten these materials for my kindergarten students to use.

We've had them for a while now and have pretty much used them everyday! I have not only used the manipulatives in our guided math groups, but I have also made them available during our play center time. The math center is one of the most favorite places to be because of the new materials that are now there.

My students have learned so much from working with these manipulatives such as patterning, sorting, adding and subtracting. This list goes on and so does their learning! Thank you so much for your generosity! You have truly made a difference in the mathematical lives of these kindergarten students. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Imagination Art Station

    Funded Dec 31, 2011

Thank you so very much for your generosity! The children were thrilled when the box came full of art supplies! I know you'll see the smiles and excitement on their faces in the pictures we've uploaded. Our art cabinet has been replenished and the children have already started creating amazing art projects! The creativity and imagination at this young age is limitless and with these supplies, the children are able to indulge all they want!

Thank you again for helping me create this "Imagination Art Station!" The supplies have made such a positive impact on how the children can express themselves and just how creative they can be. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Celebrate Life!

    Funded Aug 14, 2011

Thank you once again for making such a difference in the lives of 20 wonderful kindergarten students! With your donation, this project, "Celebrate Life!" has indeed come to life!

The children have loved reading all the books about life cycles of different animals and they have learned so much. From chickens to butterflies and back to frogs, the kindergarteners are able to see life from start to finish and the circle that it creates.

We'll be sending off for the butterflies in the Spring when the weather warms up and I know that being able to actually see the life cycle will make such an impact.

Thank you for your generosity! You have made a positive impact on these students that will last a lifetime!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Take Home Books

    Funded Aug 17, 2011

Thank you so much...for so many things!

Thank you for your generosity in donating to this project. Thank you for allowing me to share with my students a love of reading! Thank you for the ability to send home books safely with each and every one of my kindergarten students.

Since we got these new take home book pouches, the children have been eager each afternoon to choose a book to take home and read. I have never seen excitement like that before!

The children are reading more and learning more. And, this is because of YOU.

We will continue to use these book pouches each and every week. I have seen the gains in reading already and I know that the children will continue to grow in their ability and love of learning.

Thank you for supporting me and my students and public education. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • H 2 Ohhh Yeah!

    Funded May 31, 2011

I hope that you were able to see the excitement on the children's faces as they opened up the box of water bottles! They were thrilled, to say the least. The children immediately wanted to fill them up for use.

As we gave them a wash and put them in baskets in our refrigerator to get cold, the children waited anxiously for their fist use!

We are using these water bottles at snack time and during recess. I could not be more thankful to you for helping me provide my kindergarten students with the hydration that they need to stay sharp throughout the day.

Taking care of our bodies so that we can preform to our best ability is a hard lesson to teach 5 year olds. Giving them a fun Gatorade water bottle full of cold water may seem simple, but it helps tremendously.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel

  • Read (and Write) All About It!

    Funded Apr 20, 2011

A HUGE "Thank You" for your generous donation! My kindergarten students and I spend our writing time each day studying books and authors and the craft of writing. Because of your donation to this project, I was able to purchase a stack of new books to share with my students.

My students became writers right before my very eyes this year and I wouldn't have been able to say that without your help!

Thank you for allowing me to share great writing instruction with my students but for also showing them what kindness and generosity is all about. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lochel
