Funded Jul 21, 2020It is with great joy and excitement that I share with you the impact these resources have had on my students. From facing the challenges of working on their Reading at home, to now being independent, I've watched my challenged students become more fluent readers day by day. Seeing their scores on Reading tests improve is also amazing. There's an motivating moment when a child who experiences difficulty with learning to read, commits to their own education because they feel supported and cared for. We do what we do for moments such as this. I probably could have gotten to this point alone, but I am beyond grateful I didn't have to. Reading is a fundamental component of life and your gift brought some "Literacy Light" to my students' futures. Please accept my thanks and most sincere appreciation for the phonics, spelling, and word study activities which are sure to continue to help them build their reading fluency for months to come. Blessings.”

Oh, the Places You Can Go...With Technology!!!
Funded Jul 1, 2018This project was so amazing! Thank you for your generosity. The unit we were covering in Reading was Biographies. The Math Unit was comparing and ordering numbers. The Social Studies Unit was Timelines and Science was Matter. We were able to use these tablets and printer to help students connect all contents into one project. They selected famous individuals from all over the world, identified important information they needed to write a biography, to show what they discovered, created timelines by comparing and ordering the numbers (years) and sorted all of the images they found based on property of matter. We were even able to create word searches to help some of the students who have difficulty spelling and allow them to work on language arts to build their vocabulary, which would enhance their writings. I thought it was going to be a challenge, but they worked diligently and were excited to be able to use technology in so many different ways for this one project. One of the girls asked, "Can we do this for every project?!" I assured them, they'd have more opportunities to work on projects similar to this one because they did so well with the first. Please know that you have made a tremendous impact in my scholars' lives. The joy uncovered during the span of this project has become a daily motivator and I will never forget your kindness. Blessings to you.”
