Penny Dreadful 4th Grade Book Club

Thank you so much for your donation to my project. When I told the students in my book club that we could now ALL be able to read the same book at the same time they were SO excited!

This book club is a mixture of gifted and struggling readers and it has been awesome to see the two groups interact with books. I believe that reading and discussing the books in a casual setting like this will help all the students become stronger readers and more importantly learn to love to read and become life long readers.

Since we received our package of books, we started reading the book Seven Day Magic by Edward Eager. So far everyone seems to enjoy the book and I have two students who loved it so much they have actually read the whole book already! Yesterday we had fun discussing the characters in the book and we had a great discussion about whether we believed there truly was magic in the world. I believe there is magic in the world because of people like you who believe in public education and the power of books,
