Funded Sep 5, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation! The students enjoyed the FL Sunshine books. The favorite title has been The Great Pet Heist. They loved it so much they have been begging me to order the second book in the series. It is wonderful to see them get excited about reading and encourage their friends to read the books.
We were able to form a team for our district's Battle of the Books competition. The competition will be held in May. The schools will compete for the district winner. In order to be on the team, students had to read at least three of the FL Sunshine books. The set you donated to our school and students was read by many. The team is using the books to prepare for the competition. They will be asked comprehension questions from all of the books. It will be so much fun!
Thank you again for opening your heart to donate to our students and encourage a love of literacy!”

Help Put the Technology in STEAM
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity. The STEAM Lab has been loving the new i-pad! The i-pad has helped take learning to a new level. The students in grades Kg through 5th grade have been able to use the i-pad to research different concepts and review past lessons. They also used the i-pad to visit the moon during our solar system unit. My students loved the virtual field trip and are begging for more. Their favorite use of the i-pad has been coding. They constantly ask to practice their coding skills. They have enjoyed coding the Dash robots. The new i-pad allowed another group of students to be able to code. Their skills are improving tremendously thanks to the opportunity to have more time coding on the device.
Thank you again for your kindness and providing the Lab with a new i-pad. The students and I are very appreciative!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your support! I am so thrilled with the success that we have had with Lego to Go Literacy lessons. The students beg for Lego day in the STEAM Lab. They have enjoyed reading the books and completing the challenges related to the literature. It is a wonderful way to integrate STEAM into literacy lessons. One of the first grade students even told me that he went to the library and checked out the book he read in the lab just because he wanted to read it again! It was great to hear he wanted to keep reading!
The students have also been able to complete these challenges in their classrooms. Some teachers have checked out the books and Legos and used them for a variety of purposes.
Thank you for your support. It is great to encourage a love of literacy and STEAM. I greatly appreciate you!”

Funded Nov 20, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity. I was thrilled to receive the package with six Snap Circuit kits! When the students walked into the lab and saw the new boxes of snap circuits, they immediately started begging to use them.
My students were thrilled to collaborate to create circuits. After we discussed energy, electricity, and circuits, they were given time to explore the concepts using the snap circuit kits. Students built exciting projects, such as a flying saucer, alarms, doorbells, lights turned on and off by switches, and even the Happy Birthday melody. The favorite has been the flying saucer and the space sounds. Their faces glowed when they successfully constructed their own circuit. They were also challenged to find the break in the circuit if it did not work. The kits made learning fun and meaningful.
Thank you again for supporting my classroom. I greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity. You have helped inspire my students and their love of Science!”

Funded Nov 27, 2017Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! The students and I were so excited to receive the resources in the mail. We couldn't wait to get started! When they walked into the lab, their jaws dropped and you could see the excitement starting to bubble. They were begging to try out the new materials.
The STEM kits were the first to be used. Kindergarten through third grade enjoyed solving real world problems and exploring Science concepts. The Kindergarten students loved the magnet fishing challenges. We also used the Engineer-a-Coaster kits with Pre-K. The Pre-K students loved being engineers and figuring out ways to get the gear from the top of their coaster to the bottom without falling. They persevered through the challenge. The other grades cannot wait to use the Engineer-a-Coaster kit.
Thank you again for providing hands-on materials and resources for my students. They are gaining great collaborating and problem-solving skills when they work together to complete the challenges. We truly appreciate your kindness!”

Funded Sep 19, 2017Thank you for you kind donation. We were thrilled to open up our building blocks and accessories in the STEAM Lab. The students could not wait to get busy creating their masterpieces.
My students had a blast being creative. I gave them free-range to create whatever came to their mind. They got to be artists like the artist, Nathan Sawaya. They created pyramids, bridges, towers, cars, planes, houses, and so many things. They loved having time to let their imaginations soar. One of my sweet, third graders repeatedly thanked me for allowing him time to figure out how to make a pyramid and have fun while building.
Thank you for providing the materials to allow my students an opportunity for creative freedom. You allowed them to bring their visions to life. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!”

Funded May 17, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation to our STEAM Lab! The students were thrilled to receive the baseplate and building block materials. They couldn't wait to get busy as engineers. We completed our first challenge using STEM mats. Each group was given a different engineering challenge that tested their measuring skills. The students had to build their object to fit certain parameters. An example of a challenge- build a bridge that is 8 inches long and supports the weight of 25 pennies. Every group had a different challenge and different parameters. It was a great way to showcase their creativity and test a variety of measurement skills.
They cannot wait to use the materials for another challenge. Next, they will be challenged with the task of building a structure that can withstand natural disasters- such as an earthquake, hurricane force winds, and a mudslide. I know they will be up for the challenge.
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. The materials will be used many times throughout the year to reinforce a variety of science and mathematical concepts. We greatly appreciate your support. You have made learning memorable and meaningful!”
