HP Ink = Interested Students
Funded Dec 3, 2011Thank you so much for your wonderful contribution to our classroom. Ink might not seem like much, but it is an extremely useful tool. We use it for everything from creating eye catching projects to simply making copies for makeup work. It not only helps make the classroom run more effectively, but also increases the ease of the daily running of the class.
We can't wait to get the ink so that we can create our new ABC History books and Research Posters! These projects help engage my students. They have actually started looking forward to the work. Thank you so much!”

iWant to iNvestigate History Using the iPad 2
Funded Jul 7, 2011Your contribution to my classroom has been immeasurable! I knew that the iPad2 would be an amazing teaching tool, but I never realized how much of an impact it could have on my classroom. Since we began using the iPad2, students have shown an increase in interest and motivation. This means that they are now ready and willing to participate in our history lessons.
Not only does the iPad2 increase motivation and interest, but it also allows me to integrate technology and diverse topics into our lessons. We get to use the tool for research, educational games, podcasts, current events, educational videos and so much more. It opens up avenues for new types of classroom instruction!”

Add-Ons Aid Academic Achievement
Funded Jul 14, 2011We are so thankful for your generous contribution to our classroom! My students are excited because they can finally use the iPods that I have been telling them about. Before my new students began using our technology, I wanted to get them protected. Your donations help provide the cases to keep our resources in good working order.
This project is going to also make using the technology easier. Using the technology 6 periods a day, keeps the batteries depleted. The chargers you help provide are going to be utilized in order to make our technology time last longer and be more productive.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to my students and to me. ”

Hooked on Reading Through Nook
Funded Jul 27, 2011Reading is always a struggle with the students at our school. We ask them to read in the mornings before first period starts and in the afternoon during "bus groups." Many times this is the most difficult part of my day. Your contribution to this project has made reading more interesting for my students and therefore is making my school life easier.
Not only is it easier to get my students to read these ebooks, but with your help I was able to purchase more relevant and up to date ebooks. The new supply of books means that my students can always find something interesting to read. Many of my other students are even begging me to read during class now. That in itself makes this project worth it in my eyes.
Thank you for supporting history and literacy education at our school!”

Funded Apr 22, 2011Thank you so very much for your amazing support of our classroom. Your generous donation has improved classroom instruction and student interest. We have utilized the iPod in a variety of ways. The iPod has allowed us to watch podcasts, research projects, play educational games, and so much more. I have been able to use it for enrichment, motivation, rewards, and it has become an essential resource for my social studies classroom!
Besides being a wonderful resource, it has also improved classroom instruction. It helps improve student engagement plus allows my students access to technology. Technological skills are necessary in our ever changing world. Thank you for helping provide access to it for my students!”

The WRITE Stuff
Funded May 20, 2011We got our materials from Quill in today. One of our office staff brought them by in the middle of third period. Before the period was over, we had already opened the box and started using our wonderful new pencil sharpener and pencils. It's amazing how a simple thing like having a pencil sharpener or a pencil to borrow can help a student succeed!
I've already informed my students that we will be using the new dry erase markers tomorrow for a group activity. They are so excited. These materials have not only helped make our classroom a more effective learning environment, but they have helped engage and get my student interested. This is so important at the beginning of the school year. Thank you for helping me do it! It wouldn't work without your generous help!”

Binding Together the Past, Present, and Their Future
Funded Jun 25, 2011My students are excited! That is a statement that a lot of Social Studies teachers are not able to make often. Thanks to your generosity, I am. My students are excited because they are going to be given the opportunity to make their own books. That is something they had never considered before I described this project to them. Thank you for helping make this a possibility.
We are going to use this binder to do a few different projects. I plan to create an "ABC" book for each of our different units. Each student will have the chance to contribute to these. Besides these books, I also plan on letting the students choose a topic during the course of the year. They will then research and write their on book on this topic. It will not only give them ownership, but will also actively engage them in their own history education. Again, without you this would not be possible. Thank you!”

Funded Jul 2, 2011You are making a significant change in the minds of at least 140 junior high students! Your contribution to this project has allowed me to have useful resources in my history classroom. My students have been given a new opportunity. They can research any question they might have without ever having to leave my classroom.
The encyclopedia and reference software provided by this project will be utilized in a multitude of ways in my classroom. We will use it for everything from making multimedia presentations to simply answering the various questions my students pose. You're wonderful!”

Mastering Map Making
Funded Jun 7, 2011Your generous donations mean that my classroom will have valuable resources to work with not only for the upcoming year but for years to come. We will be able to use the map making kits to learn about geography and landforms. The colored pencils will also be used in other map making and geography activities.
These activities will not only help instruct but also engage the students in the lessons. They will promote interest and inquiry as well. These materials will go a long ways toward making my classroom a enriching learning environment!
Thank you!”

Books Bring the World into the Classroom
Funded Apr 8, 2011The books this project provided have been a life saver in my classroom. They have not only assisted in my students learning the content, but they have also helped increase their interest in reading and history in general. The books have captured their imagination and built up their knowledge about various Native groups.
We used the books with our Native American unit, but the students continue to choose the books during morning and afternoon reading time as well. I am encouraged by their eagerness to read and these books are partly responsible for that! Your donation has meant the world to my classroom, to my students, and to me!
Thank you!”
