Thank you so much for helping me validate my students feelings. I don't ever want my students to think feeling mad or being loud is a bad thing, but I want them to know they don't always want to be that way.
My students have enjoyed all the different books being read aloud. The class decided to place them in the calm down corner afterwards and I notice many of the students have read them independently. They choose to read the books and look at the illustrations over ALL the other calm down items I've purchased throughout the school year.

I have LOVED having the paddle whiteboards in my classroom. We use them all the time! We use them during our phonics lessons to word build. We use them in reading to jot down story elements and other clues to answer text dependent questions. Then we use them the whole math lesson!!
I love that the students can write things down and if they make a mistake or change their mind... they just erase it! It's priceless! The ability to change or correct their work has increased my student participation in work. No one says "I can't!" and instead stays worry free and tries.”

My school is the best school! We are an International Magnet school that incorporates Multi-Cultural Studies into our Curriculum. We are a family school that strives to deliver the best instruction to our students and help them exceed the Common Core Standards. Our teachers give 110% to their students every day! We follow the teaching model of "I Do (teacher), We Do (teacher plus students) and You Do/They Do (students working alone or with partners). This model allows students to visit centers every day and apply the skills they have learned independently or with a partner.
