I have 23 students in Northern Michigan. My students are in their 2nd year with me as a looping teacher K-1. Our classroom is full of voracious readers, each actively engaged in their own reading development. The readers in our classroom enjoy reading a variety of books from non-fiction, information, fiction, and are eager to expand their love to any book I throw their way! Our school has a small number of at-risk students by definition but that is not to say there are not vast needs. We are a pre-K to 5th grade building that proudly makes people feel like part of a community the moment they enter. Our school is focused on improving over all reading in our students and being more intentional with our planning and resources. We want to help children become thinkers who take risks and are confident enough to revise their thinking as needed.
