STEAM Morning Bins
Funded Feb 5, 2019Thank you for supporting our classroom with your generous donation! My students were so excited when our packages arrived. I had previously told them about the project when it was in process and when it was fully funded. Being present for the unboxing brought a whole new level of excitement and appreciation for something new.
We are loving our morning STEAM Bins! We enjoy using them in the morning to start off the day actively engaging our minds. We also enjoy using them throughout the day for brain breaks, free time, or as a special treat. Building, communicating, and simple fun is so important for 5th graders.
Thank you for using DonorsChoose to support educators and the future of America!”

"Bullying Hurts: Teaching Kindness Through Read Alouds"
Funded Jul 24, 2014Thank you for donating to this project! We have used these books many times in our classroom to learn about kindness, empathy, respect, responsibility, etc. We have also loaned these books out to many teachers in our building, and they have enjoyed them as well. Because of your purchase I feel better equipped to teach my students about character through fiction texts.
Hooway for Wodney Wat will always be one of my most favorite books. If you have never read it I encourage you to do so. HWW would make a wonderful addition to any child's book collection!”

Reading Comprehension with iPads!
Funded Oct 30, 2013Thank you for your generous donation and help purchasing two mini-ipads for our classroom! My students love being able to use these every day. We use them for reading comprehension and math activities, but we also use them when we simply need a brain break. As a teacher I can use it to quickly pull up common core standards, take attendance, and make behavior notes if needed. My Science Olympiad team was also able to use the iPads for research and quiz themselves before competition. Your continued support of my students and my classroom is greatly appreciated.”

Bring Us Into 2013 With A New TV!
Funded Mar 22, 2013I can not thank you enough for your generous donation supporting my classroom. My students were beyond excited when I told them our project had been funded and that we would be receiving a new TV. Then the day the office buzzed my room announcing a delivery from UPS they jumped and said "Is that our TV?! Is it here?!" We are now able to watch the morning announcements clearly, and hear them without a "snap, crackle, and pop." We also get to make use of our (donated) brand new DVD/VCR combo! I am so thankful for the opportunities I have been able to provide my students through DonorsChoose.org.”

Hands on Reading! Becoming Stronger Readers With Games!
Funded Jan 2, 2013Thank you for helping fund our class project! We thoroughly enjoy our reading comprehension games. We cover one reading skill every two weeks, and almost every skill has a corresponding game. Students are allowed to play the games within a small group setting independently, and other times I will pull a small group and teach with the game. Students, with permission, are also allowed to check the games out and take them home to play with their own families over a weekend. My class truly appreciates your generosity and support.”

Reading and Meeting Launch Center
Funded Oct 17, 2012I would like to begin by thanking you for your monetary contribution to our classroom. You have not only impacted my current class, but future classes as well. We use our carpet and dry erase board daily. The size of the carpet is perfect as all of us are able to fit on it. The dry erase board is the perfect height for us to use during small group lessons and independent centers. My student's were amazed when I told them our project had been funded, and still randomly ask me, "Someone just gave this to us?" We are all very thankful for your support!”

We Need Dictionaries!
Funded May 5, 2011Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with your donation.
Words can not truly convey the gratitude I have for your support. My students love using the dictionaries, finding words they don't know, composing better essays, etc. They also love having something brand-new that is there own, not something given to us on it's way to the trash. I am of course thrilled to have these dictionaries and see my students so excited to use them. Too many children do not know how to use a dictionary, but choose to "Google" it instead. Your donation will
continue to help students become better spellers, find the correct usage of words,
and compose better essays. Your gift will touch many lives.”
With gratitude,
Ms. R.
