A School Away From School
Funded Oct 28, 2020As we head into the fall school year of 2021, with COVID still hovering in our midst, your generosity continues to support my students. As the classes begin, I will still record and upload the lessons so that no student needs to fear missing out on their education. If there is an issue with the masks or the barriers, they will still be able to go back and listen to their class's discussions just as though they were still in the classroom. And this is thanks to YOUR generosity. For that, you have my gratitude. I am so excited to have my students back in the classroom with me. Thank you for making this happen. You helped us survive last year. You will help us thrive this year. You are all amazing!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. HALSEY

Funded Feb 24, 2014Thank you so much for supporting my classes! I cannot tell you how excited I am! These films will help bring the abstract world of history to life for my kids! Thank you so much! I would especially like to thank AT&T for their generous contributions that made this possible!
My kids require so much visual stimulation, simply because of the media saturated world we live in. This media library will allow us to pull clips to support our lessons, regardless of whether or not we have access to media sites or our server goes down.
Thank you again for your continued support of my classroom!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. HALSEY

Funded Oct 23, 2013The impact of the Graphic Novels on our History Department has been AMAZING! The fact that the past is brought to life through such a media that truly speaks to them like Graphic Novels, has been a beautiful sight to behold. The visual representation of Maus, allowed them to be able to relate to the amazing tales of survival that were brought to their attention through the first hand account of the death camps brought to our kids by Howard Melton, Holocaust survivor.
We have bought the mantra of NEVER FORGET to life in such a way that might not have been otherwise possible, without your generosity.
Aside from the humanity of the events that were brought to life, the Maus series has brought literature to a group of kids that would have otherwise shut down and given up. Any amount of reading is essential to the development of the literary skills so many of our kids are struggling to achieve. Now, they are motivated to read...starting with graphic novels. Again, thanks to your generosity.
Please know, your gift and time will have impacts on my classes for years to come. Beyond that, on the future of OUR kids. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!”
