Better late than never, right?!? Sorry that it has taken me so long to publish this impact letter and post photos of the results of your generous donations to my Donors Choose project.
The book bins that were purchased through this project are still holding strong, even after 3 years! They have held hundreds of books and survived the moves to and from different classrooms over the last 3 years.
Because you have helped to fund this project, students are able to view books easily and the daily wear-and-tear to the books is minimized when they are held in secure and sturdy bins. This helps to ensure that I have many book choices for years to come!”
Thank you all so much for providing books for our class. The students are loving the books! They use them everyday during independent reading time. In years past I have not been able to do independent reading where students get to pick the books they want to read. It is difficult to find books at the beginning reading levels. But thanks to the new books all students can pick several books for their own reading bag. Each book is a book they can actually read. It is so exciting to see the students anxious and excited to read.
Having the books available in our classroom has given each of the students in my class a great start to becoming a lifelong reader. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!”
It is with GREAT gratitude and admiration that I write this in regards to your donations to my project. When I first started as a middle school teacher I quickly realized that I did not have the appropriate literature for my students. Due to budget cuts my school was not able to provide any for me. I would like to thank you for the wonderful world of reading you have provided for my students.
My students have formed book clubs where they read and discuss the books they are reading. Students who were once considered "reluctant readers" are able to identify their favorite authors and are seeking out other books by these authors. They look forward reading in their groups and often ask to borrow books to take home to read. This is a gift that warms my heart and brightens my students' future.”
Thank you so much for donating to my project. Your donations allowed us to get two much needed bookshelves for the books in our classroom. Most of our books were piled high in the corners of the room cluttering up the space before we received these bookshelves. Now we have an organized place to put our books making it easier for my students to get books and put them back. This has helped tremendously in class time management.
Having an organized classroom is so important for our classroom environment. The students can take pride in the place they learn. Our books are now nicely displayed and anyone who comes in our classroom can easily see what we are reading.
Thank you again for helping our classroom get organized and allowing my students to take pride in their classroom.”
Thank you so very much for your generous donation. It's people like you who really make the world a better place.
Our girls now have a fabulous book to read, reread, keep on their bookshelves at home, and loan out to friends and family. For many of them, the books they receive from book club are the very first books that our girls have ever been given.
Thanks to you, our book club continues to be a safe place for them to discuss the literature they have read and talk about their feelings about characters in the novels.
Wow! What an impact the carpet and bookshelf cart has made in my classroom. I knew the students would love to have a place to sit and read books. However, their excitement is greater than I expected.
Before we got the bookshelf cart, it was difficult for the students to find books. I had a lot of books, but no way to display them. Now with this wonderful bookshelf cart. the students can easily find books they want to read. The beautiful carpet gives them a cozy place to sit and discover books.
Most of the children come from homes where English is not spoken. They do not have books in English, except for the ones I let them choose to take home. We are absolutely thrilled with our fantastic bookcase cart and beautiful carpet. Thank you for your generosity and for helping my students to discover books for themselves!”
It was truly a pleasure to set up my library center this school year with the addition of the new book shelf. It has made displaying the books look much more inviting. I was able to put more books out for the children to enjoy and used labels to decorate the bins and shelves for easy clean up. The children enjoy our garden library and it is a favorite during reading centers.
Funding for education is very tight. Getting items like furniture and supplies is almost impossible without the help of Donors Choose and donors like yourself. Thank you for supporting educators and their students.
Thank you for helping to make our library center a warm and welcoming space.”
Thank you very much for funding my children's project "Books, Books, Books." We had many different level books in our classroom library but had no place to put them where the children could find their levels. Your generous donation has made it possible for my children to find books without difficulty. The children can now go to one area in our classroom where all of our books are and find their level. We now have a library section in our room thanks to your generous donation. The children love going to our classroom library choosing a book and reading.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the CD and cassette player, listening center headphones, station junction box with volume controls, storage center and storytelling read along library. This has been such a wonderful classroom enhancement for my
students. Each student is
anxiously waiting to go to the listening center during their independent
reading time. Thanks to your
financial donations my students are easily motivated to open up new books at
the reading center and become instantly engaged in reading books. The storyteller reading library is helping students to read
for pleasure and also learning to discover exciting adventures in each new
story. Once again I would like to
say thank you for your monetary gifts our classroom will always cherish the
storyteller listening center library.”

This classroom project was brought to life by an anonymous donor and 9 other donors.
Thank you so much for supporting my class project "Changing Lives One Book at a Time." My students are thrilled with all the new choices you helped bring to their classroom library. These new books have helped me support my students' diverse reading needs, and have encouraged my students to engage in book discussions. Having "twin-copies" or multiple copies of these books have also encouraged my students in establishing reading partnerships and organizing book clubs.
The title of my project was "Changing Lives one Book at the Time" and I truly believe that getting my students excited about reading is essential to help my students become lifelong readers. My students, their parents, and I greatly appreciate your contribution and greatly admire your support of public education.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Oran
