3Doodle--Creations in Thin Air!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for your donation towards our 3Doodle pens. Our students are using them for Makerspace and STEM extensions in all grade levels. The pens are great because they allow students to explore creativity through the use of technology.
Students enjoy using the pens to draw, write, and build prototypes. This tool allows them to see their ideas in action, in air! There is so much that the students can do with these pens. It's amazing to see the students' imagination unfold with the use of these 3Doodle pens.
Thank you again for supporting our classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by 3Doodler and 6 other donors.Spanish Literacy: The Tequila Worm
Funded May 20, 2015Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom project! When the materials arrived, the students were immediately intrigued as to what could possibly be inside the package! When we opened them up as a class, their faces lit up. They were very interested to learn about the Hispanic heritage and culture that this book had to offer.
Students are currently using the book "The Tequila Worm" as part of our Spanish 1 curriculum as a culture component to our curriculum. Many of our students have not had opportunities to engage or learn about any cultures other than their own due to the small, rural farming community. The Hispanic culture is very different than the culture they live in.
The students enjoyed reading this book, because it was a different approach to learning the Spanish language and culture in our classroom. We didn't have to write vocabulary words, conjugate verbs, or take tests! They were overjoyed!
Thank you again for everything you have done to help our classroom!”

The Numbers Add Up!
Funded Mar 29, 2015Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom project! When the materials arrived, the students were immediately intrigued as to what could possibly be inside the large packages! When we opened them up as a class, their faces lit up. For many of them, these are the first calculators they have used in a math class due to financial struggles at home and not being able to have necessary school supplies.
Students are currently using the calculators to complete their On-line lessons, projects in class, and most recently on an assessment in our 6th grade class. The calculators really helped, especially for my special education students. Ratios and proportions are difficult for some students, and the calculators allow them to manipulate the formulas and numbers while maintaining a steady pace in completing tasks.
This project could not have come at a better time. My students are finding math "fun" now, because they have something they can use to alleviate the stress and anxiety that many middle school students face in their mathematics classes. Now that we have a class set of calculators, all my students having the same piece of technology allows for easier instruction on specific key strokes for topics such as: square roots, exponents, fractions, and order of operations. We are now able to do things together and focus our time on the skills, instead of altering instruction to match the 5 different types of calculators.
Thank you again for everything you have done to help our classroom!”

Literacy in Math
Funded Jun 19, 2014The resources we received were amazing and our class is so grateful to you all!
The students were very excited when the new books arrived at the start of the school year. They saw the big box and knew something great had come for our classroom. The were very intrigued by the different books and were interested in learning what each book talked about. Each student picked a book they wanted to read by the end of the year.
For each of our learning targets we are using the books to help find solutions to our problems, as well as learn different methods for solving the problems. A lot of our students are working on ratios right now, so many of the books helps bring that information from the homework assignments to real meaning when they see how everything is related.
The project resources helped my students in their learning by enhancing their mathematical vocabulary as well as bring real life scenarios into our math content. Many students at our school are not fortunate enough to have such wonderful books to read at home, so having these resources at school in our classroom, and made available to them is a blessing. The students are interested and motivated, because our concepts are now made in their understanding so math has become a lot less stressful for many of my students.
Thank you so much for providing us with this opportunity. It is so very much appreciated. Take care.”
