  • Tech Teacher Needs Tech!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your donation. My Surface Pro has enabled me to spend more time on professional development and given me more freedom in the classroom to bring tech directly to the students.

Since this project was for professional development and not classroom use, I don't have any moments of use in the classroom to share but I can say how much this tablet has helped. It showed up just in time for me to take a final in a class I was taking. The tablet worked flawlessly, and I didn't have to worry about my computer resetting itself during the test!

I am looking forward to being able to not only use this device in my professional development and classroom organization, but also explore some of the abilities it has that can be used with my students. The Surface Pro has some fantastic illustration programs using the digital pen that I think could bring a new dimension to our designs.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Turner

  • Welcome to the Next Level: EV3 LEGO Robotics!

    Funded Jan 2, 2016

    Dear Donors:

Once again, thank you for your assistance in getting these new robot kits into my classroom. Your help has gotten students excited about learning things that are sometimes not much fun. Students can see how math and other skills are applied to specific problems, and learn that the "core subjects" really do have real life applications aside from school assignments.

The kids have loved having new robots with functioning screens. The software that came with the robots has helped increase their level of understanding as we work together to solve problems. Gone are the headaches of trying to assist students while others wait for help because something fell off a robot or a part finally wore out and needs to be replaced.

It is always exciting to me to see students come to class ready and raring to go- heading straight for the cabinet and getting everything set up so they can get right to work on the days assignment.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Turner

  • Vices for Metals

    Funded Feb 27, 2014

Thank you so much for your help in getting us some new vices! They have been well used already. The students had a great time removing the old vices, and then measuring, marking, and drilling the new holes to install the new vices. Once they got them installed, we were able to use them for many different things.

The students were very impressed that there were people out there in the world willing to donate to our school shop, and were very excited to be able to be the first of many to use the new tools. You have shown them that there are people out there who do still care and are willing to pitch in and help make changes.

This project has helped my students work faster and more efficiently in the shop. They have been able to spread out more and as a result of these things, we were able to accomplish more in the shop in less time, giving us more time to do other things as well! Your donation has made a difference in my classroom and is greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Turner

I've got some of the best students in the world. We live in a rural Idaho community that still values "vocational" education. My students are interested in learning skills they can use in their daily lives- possibly even for making a living. We have about 600 students in a 7th and 8th grade only building. I get to see on average 100 of them each trimester.
