Wow! Thank you. This has been an amazing year for my students already and you have made it so much more special. Just yesterday, one of my tables broke and fell over. The lesson stopped, the tools came out, and everything had to stop while the pit crew fixed the table. By the time we were up and running again the bell rang. Thanks to you, that will never happen again! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!”

  • Mind, Body, and Soul!

    Funded Dec 18, 2007

Your generous donation will make a great impact on my students. Having the practice of yoga in their lives will allow them to learn how to deal with difficult situations in a very calm and effective way. Thank you for giving them such a powerful gift. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness and support. I know my students have been given such a rare opportunity because of you!

    Thanks!

  • Are You An Organ Donor?

    Funded Dec 10, 2007

I am writing to thank you on behalf of the children of the entire boro and city. The music program in our school has an open door policy, and now any child in the city can have free organ lessons. Your generous donation has made it possible for children from seriously disadvantaged backgrounds to have access to the same resources as their counterparts in more affluent communities, and to express their creativity and energy in a positive and constructive manner. Thank you!!”

  • URBAN Indianapolis School needs INSTRUMENTS (Phase 3 of 3)

    Funded Oct 19, 2007

It is with great excitement that I say THANK YOU for your generous donation to my project. The xylophones you have helped fund will provide countless children with an opportunity to perform, create, and improvise. I can only describe for you the look of joy and excitement on the faces of the students as they play these xylophones. The brand I'm buying is top of the line; they will last for years providing outstanding quality of sound. Second graders may explore steady beats and simple melodies, while sixth graders play more complicated melodies in multi-sectioned pieces. All children are given an opportunity to improvise; creating melodies, expressing their own musicality. These two xylophones, added to the instruments we already use, will allow even more students to play immediately without having to share with someone else, waiting to play. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping me create an engaging arts opportunity.

  • Beginning Readers

    Funded Sep 18, 2007

Thank you SO much for this unbelievable gift! With the approaching expiration date for my proposal, I had resigned myself to not getting funding...what a wonderful surprise today to find out that I did!

My first graders will benefit enormously from these books that are an appropriate level for their abilities. They will be able to begin with easy books, gain confidence in themselves as readers, and continue to advance into more complex stories. Without your generosity, I would not have had the resources to help make this happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Sincerely,

  • Books, Not Basals: Math Books for Classroom Library #2

    Funded Sep 18, 2007

Wonderful! These books are going to be a wonderful ADDITION to our classroom library. It will really MULTIPLY my students’ enthusiasm for mathematics! I’ll have to be careful and DIVIDE the books equally amongst the students, because they used to argue over the couple copies of Sir Cumference I already had. This is a TOTAL surprise, and I can’t SUM it up enough! These PRODUCTS are fantastic, and my students are going to really enjoy them. Your generosity is not AVERAGE in any way; it can’t even be MEASURED, I can only ESTIMATE! The PROBABILITY that your bigheartedness is going to greatly affect the OUTCOME of my students’ live is much GREATER THAN before.

Really, thank you so much! You are a truly wonderful, giving person”

  • All Things Small are Great!

    Funded Aug 21, 2007

I am so excited about receiving the microscopes. My students will truly become Junior scientists with new microscopes to use. Thank you very much for helping my students. I cannot begin to tell you what this donation will mean for my class. My students have had to share one small inefficient microscope. Now I will be able to provide a microscope for each group to use. We will never forget your kind generosity”

  • Chicago Oral History Project

    Funded Aug 16, 2007

Thank you very much for choosing to fund this project. Few students have the opportunity to conduct interviews and I am very excited that my students will learn unique and varied perspectives on local history. This project will allow my students to become historians and make a personal connection to the history of Chicago and their community. I also expect that other teachers will be able to use these resources for future oral history projects. Thank you”
