My students were able to develop concepts of space, volume and design with being able to creatively explore with their Legos. The engagement they had was tremendous!
They constructed buildings, animals, ships, and more. This ended up being an after school play time form them and many of the students didn't have access to these types of creative building materials. We played once a week with the blocks for a full semester.
Thank you so much for providing the Lego blocks for exploration and play.”
Though long overdue, I still wanted to write you a little note to express my sincere gratitude for your generosity. Your genuine willingness to give to those you don't even know, expecting nothing in return...it is inspiring, and the same spirit I am trying to pass on to my 5th and 6th grade kiddos. I so appreciate your help in bringing about change in education. People like you will be the reason children in America grow up to be educated, well-rounded, gracious, and generous leaders that our world so desperately needs.
My students have written you notes to convey their many thanks, and I am looking to have them sent to you. However, I fear that since you did not request a note, it will not give me an address for you. If I fail to find your address, please accept our deep appreciation for the dry-erase boards that make practicing math more engaging for them. It has engaged them and kept them focused. Thank you for helping my students and I build a better tomorrow.”
Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! You have given us some phenomenal resources to use so that we can develop a deeper understanding of mathematics!
My students are really enjoying using the Algeblocks and Factor Tracks to show their algebraic thinking! These resources allow students to build equations on mats and represent complex algebraic thinking in a hands-on and exciting way. We use a conceptual curriculum to teach mathematics at our school, so these materials are a perfect supplement to the instruction that is already taking place.
We are currently finishing up our state-wide standards assessments and then we are jumping into seventh grade math standards so that students will be extra-prepared for the next grade level. The seventh grade teacher is especially excited that students will have had practice with using these resources as they approach the next grade level and students are thrilled to be working on advanced topics in preparation for next year!
Thank you again for choosing to fund this project and investing in the amazing mathematicians in my classroom!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. A.

Your donations that allowed my class to obtain math centers and review activities are truly appreciated. Since I teach a combined class, there are many times that my students must work alone while I work with the opposite grade or where the older students are finished and the younger students are still working. In the past reading was the only thing the students had to do during this time.
While reading is a great thing, the students were becoming bored with it. The math centers and activities you provided for our class gave my students another activity to do when they are finished with their work and waiting for the other students. The activities are also great during our intervention group where we do extra practice with the lower students and advanced activities with the advanced students.
I truly appreciate your donations as do the students in my class. ”
Thank you so much for this amazing donation! My students are thrilled by all the new science materials we have received for our classroom. They love using the Can Do! science kits, because it allows them the opportunity to practice and investigate on their own. I have noticed that my students are more inquisitive now and are asking more questions as a result of these new materials.
Additionally, my students love using the new safety goggles when we do investigations. It helps them feel more like real scientists and I can see that they are taking their work much more seriously now. They love that we have enough materials for all of them to be able to use, and now they are all able to investigate at the same time.
Your donation has made a huge difference during our science time each day. I am able to perform many more experiments and investigations with my students because I have the materials that we need. Thank you so much for your support!”
Thank you for your desire to help students within my institution. Your donations has helped me "Fast Forward" my students learning by utilizing technology to enhance the curriculum. The 21st century student has access to an abundance of technology gadgets and it is a welcome change to make use of some of these advances within my Math and Science instruction.
The LCD projector has allowed my students to view videos, which show lessons in a different manner, demonstrations of problem solving, and Science in action. The amount of enthusiasm has increased tremulously and the students enjoy watching the various educational videos. Additionally, the participation has increased. No longer am I talking for long periods but the students are responding to questions posed in the videos and having meaningful conversation regarding the topics.
I once again thank you for the selfless interest that you have shown in our cause.
I can begin to thank you for your generous donation. The materials (batteries, motors, wire, tools and paint) are such so needed by our students to create their inventions. As a inner city teacher it is often a financial struggle to provide all of the necessary tools for success that are needed by my students.
As we read the invention books, the students began to understand how inventions have shaped our every day world. This spark was their springboard to creating an original invention which would solve a problem which they have in their own lives. We have such inventions as, "Trespassor Trouble", warning bells when brothers and sisters enter their rooms, "Mess Manager", desk organizers so that mom stops complaining about their messy room, and "Spill Stopper", so they keep their food on their plates.
All of this imagination and learning is possible because of your generosity.”
Thank you for your contribution to this project. We have already used several of the books that were purchased to help enhance our math curriculum. We have used Math Fables to help us embrace our own creative writing as we write our own math fables using a free computer programing software called Alice.
Also, we are using G is for Googol to understand a variety of mathematical ideas and concepts. The kids really seem to enjoy the use of this book and the creative activities that have been developed to go with the book.
Using several of the other books we received,we also started literature circles. These extensions of relating math and language help my students see how math can be applied in a variety of ways in our world, even in story writing.
Thank you again for your donation to my students and their understandings of mathematical concepts”

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The project that you have funded has been instrumental in engaging my students with such complicated content. The solar elements have were an amazing tool in order to show students the amazing capabilities of solar energy. The radiometer and St. Louis motor raised so many questions and created so many teachable moments. You have helped drive the learning by helping kids see mysteries that they didn't know existed, and then we unraveled those mysteries with out scientific knowledge. You helped me take it a step further. Thank you. ”

Words cannot express how much your generous donations have helped our class! The class was so excited as we opened all of our new supplies. The new whiteboards, markers, and erasers allowed the students to show work for their math thinking. We used them with partner work, class competitions, and drawing out geometric figures. With these supplies, all students were engaged and it allowed me to assess everyone at the same time.
The students loved the math picture books!! On Fridays, we spent the day reading in pairs. They were not only learning new strategies for math, but found a new love to read. They were able to see pictures of fraction representations, geometry, and several examples of number sense.
These students came in at the beginning of the year unmotivated and scoring very low on their math assessments. This is an additional math class in place of their elective to help them succeed. After talking with their regular math teachers, they are seeing much changes in their grades and behavior. The students will come to their class already taught the lesson from me and have done activities and games with the supplies given and they have so much more confidence!! Some have even earned the privilege to be moved out of the intervention to a regular elective class!
Again, thank you so very much for all your support for our kids. We feel very special to know others care about their education!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Petraglia
