Kids are our future - so let's help them get the education they need to make it a bright one! I focused on projects in Hawaii, because I know just how much they need all the help they can get.
A warm and heartfelt thank you from me and my students. We were all so thrilled to receive the software for our SMART Board and couldn't wait to get started with all the great games!
Every day we use the material to reinforce concepts that we have already learned or as a great motivator for what's ahead!
We love using this great technology to learn! It is fast-paced, and keeps our attention and it's lots of fun so we remember what we are learning! Sometimes we break into teams or groups and challenge each other. It is always so much fun!!!”
I'm forever grateful to you folks for such a generous gesture that will continue to give to my students on a daily basis!!! The 2 Toshiba laptops provide an endless opportunity to excel, expand, explore, and exercise skills learned! In addition, my studentsÊ» visual, aural, kinesthetic needs are addressed and afford meaningful learning experiences. These laptops have allowed my students to generate their resumes, obtain & sustain typing skills, do project based learning assignments, create a newsletter, pamphlets, PowerPoint presentations, conduct research, explore virtual tours, utilize websites that allow them to build upon or practice new skills learned, create rubrics for their work, identify service providers and jobs, and so much more. My students canÊ»t thank you enough for helping us better equip ourselves!!! Learning has been so much more fun since receiving the two toshiba laptops! Thanks again !!! All of you who gave without hesitation!!!”
This is a HUGE thank you coming from my students and I for you generous donation to my our room. The whiteboard you donated helps my students on a daily basis.
We use the whiteboard when my students are broken into small groups. With the whiteboard I am able to move my students into my small room and provide extra assistance and support. In my room i take an average of 5 students of the same ability and work with them in becoming proficient with the concepts being taught in class. At this moment the whiteboard is used in my inclusion math classes.
Our school is a Title one school, so without your help, my students would not have the benefits from moving into a smaller setting to relearn, ask questions, and receive individual attention. For the students at this level small group instruction is so helpful
Without generous donors like you, thousands of classroom in the United States would be without essential classroom materials.”
Words alone cannot express the gratitude I have for your generous donation to my classroom. My students appreciate the Sony Tablet your donations were able to provide. With the Sony Tablet, my students are able to have added technology in the classroom to access. They use the tablet to complete reading comprehension activities as well as additional math practice that relates to the concepts taught in class.
Currently at our school, we have a few desktop
computers for students to use. Without your donations, my students would not have had the opportunity to be able to learn how to use a tablet in the classroom. Luckily we are able to at this time. Thank you very much again!”
This project has allowed students to create a scientific investigation using hermit crabs found in our local ocean tide pools!! How cool is that!? Students made behaviors observations on the hermit crabs using the air pumps provided by your generous donation. Then they based questions on their observations and designed their own scientific investigation based on their possible explanations for their questions. After testing their hypothesis, students collected their data and graphed their results to share out loud with the class.
Students were engaged the entire time! This was a great lab to end the year with because it ties nicely with next year, where they will begin with scientific investigation.
Thank you again for you support in helping bring the ocean into our classroom. Field trips are near impossible, but we managed to bring science alive with your support. Again, a great big mahalo from all my students and me!!!”
Thank you very much for your kind, generous donation! Students were so excited when we got our huge package containing the gardens!! The class enjoyed putting the planter together.
So far we have added soil to the planter. Our plant unit is coming up next month and I can't wait to show them how to care for plants and what is needed (water, soil, sun). We will be reading a lot of books about plants and the planter will bring the book to life! I can't wait to plant seeds with them and observe what happens.”
I am so thankful for your support in our classroom this year. Our school is growing every day and we are adding new classes each year. This kindergarten classroom was started from scratch not too long ago, so we are thrilled to have the new addition. With budget cuts, new materials like these often stay in our dreams as funding is reduced to bare necessities. You certainly made my kindergarteners dreams come true with a VERY exciting new center to visit!
My class has been very busy making good use of your donation! We've been fishing for numbers and learning number order by lining them up after we catch them. We've been digging through the sand and the "snow" for letters, which is helping us master letter names and sounds. We've also been learning a lot about taking turns and sharing with our friends because this center is so popular! Who knew letters and numbers could be so much fun?
The sand and water play table and extra educational materials are something that will impact so many more kindergarteners at our school beyond this school year. I am so thankful that you thought to donate towards our classroom. Mahalo nui loa for all of your aloha and support!”
Thank you for donating the school supplies to my classroom of special education students. Although school supplies are not the most exciting thing to request, my students still get excited by small things like pencil grips and mechanical pencils. Many students have never used mechanical pencils before! They are blown away that they no longer need to interrupt class to use the pencil sharpener, and I am even more impressed at this impact. This just goes to show how big of an impact your donation makes in this high-poverty community and school!
By having school supplies readily available for them, many parents have also expressed thanks that their students are able to participate and engage in the learning process. Thanks so much for caring about these students in Hawaii. Mahalo.”
First thank you all, so many people came together to help my class on this endeavor. The Season Cycler could not of come at a better time. The students are learning about the four seasons. I am glad I was able to add the Season Cycler to the lesson plan. The students got a chance to learn more about why the Earth has seasons with this hands-on activity. The class had alot of fun with the lesson and I got to see them used the prior knowledge from the notes they took the day before.
Once we return from winter break, the next unit is Moon Phases. The Styrofoam balls are going to be used for another great hands-on lab, demonstrating how and why the phases of the Moon works.
Mahalo and thank you again, you are planting the seeds of the future.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Shepherd-Jones
