Thank you so very much for contributing to our classroom. The volcano models and lessons have been a great addition to our hands-on environment. We used the models to help better understand how volcanoes work. After we used them, we were able to pass everything to other science classes for them to benefit also.
It's nice to be able to share these wonderful things with my kids with the help of you guys. Times are hard with budgets right now, so this is a great opportunity to be able to provide learning opportunities to my students.”
Thank you again for your generous donation to the biology program at Lowell High School. We have already received the fossil samples and our students have been absolutely thrilled to have this resource.
During each spring semester, we explore evolution by looking at how mass extinction events influence later species diversification. We will now be able to investigate the fossil record to see how it supports Darwin's theory of evolution. Because of your support, we now have sufficient fossil samples for every students in the classroom. You may also be please to know that the fossils are shared between all 9th grade biology teachers. This maximizes the number of students that will be positively impacted by your donation.
The Lowell High School community is sincerely grateful to you for investing in our students and we encourage you to continue supporting young people. They are most certainly the future and you are making a real difference.”
This year, students in my sixth grade science class will have a chance to build and explode a volcano. In the past years, students brought in supplies to make a model. My heart would break when students were unable to bring in supplies. I could see their excitement turn into disappointment that there project would not hold up against the student will all the cool supplies.
Thanks to your generous donation, each student will have the tools to build a model. I will not start this unit until the spring, but I can not wait. Is is important that students be active learners. Thank you for believing in them and our project.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. McGonigle
