Without a doubt, the arrival of the digital projector, the speakers, and the large projection screen at Reiche School has been a catalyst for the use of digital projection with teaching. Once teachers learned about the equipment and saw it in action, word got out and it could no longer be contained in one classroom. So, as you may have suspected, the equipment you so generously donated is now set up on a library cart so that it can be shared throughout the school.
The DonorsChoose mobile unit is in great demand on a daily basis and is used to help students visualize new math and science concepts, to teach ABCs with rhymes and songs, to read a OneMoreStory books together, to learn library and research skills, to connect and communicate with an expert via Skype, and it doesn't stop there!
With your help digital projection has become a contagiously exciting classroom resource making the value of your donations unmeasurable as it has taken teaching and learning at Reiche to a entire new level -- engaging, fun, and most importantly, meaningful and motivating!
On behalf of all Reiche teachers and students, a heart-felt "Thank You"!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Beliveau

Thank you so much for your generous support of my project. The resources have been outstanding to have available to my students. The carpet with a colored square for each child has allowed my students to each feel as if they have a place of their own; each child knows which spot is "his" or "hers."
The students have made great use of the painting easel in the classroom. This easel is set up to allow students to freely express themselves, and his been a powerful tool for children to be creative and work on various skills as well as providing them an opportunity to work through difficult situations through art expression.
We have used the Lego table daily, which has been a wonderful tool for teaching students to work together and problem solve, as well as have an opportunity to play independently at times.
My students and I continue to be grateful for your generosity, and students in the years to come will be able to experience success in school thanks to the materials my classroom received.
Thanks again for your support of my kindergarten students, and of education of all children.”
Thank you ever so much for your donation of six netbooks for my chemistry classroom. My students now can access the wireless Internet in my science classroom.
This donation allows my students to access the Internet and take on-line tests, perform scientific simulations, and utilize tutorials. My students will be able to incorporate technology in the classroom.
Again thank you for the donation to my high school and classroom. The students and myself greatly appreciate your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Parker

Your generous donations have enabled us to start a band program at out school. We are so grateful to you! The students here are very excited about Mariachi Band; there was twice as much interest as we had instruments to fill!
We currently have thirty children enrolled in band; nine playing violins, four playing trumpet, and seventeen playing guitar. So far, we've been able to play four exercises in our Band book, and we've added the first famous beginner song, Hot Cross Buns.
We are indeed indebted to you and your generosity. Thank you for holding our music up! ”
Great news...our rug is here and it is all that we had imagined plus more. It is absolutely great! We actually got the rug a lot sooner than we imagined so it was a wonderful surprise when my assistant came pulling it through the door. We had to stop what we were doing and put it out immediately. The kids just loved it. They had to rub all over it and feel it that first day.
Overall, our new rug has been a great addition to our room. Everyone has their own spot (personal space), and there is no argument as to who sits where and what row anyone is on. It also accommodates us in any way...no matter what activity...from reading with a friend to whole group learning to games and activities.
Again, thank you for your support. Our new rug is FABULOUS!!! :)”
I want you to know about the tremendous difference your donations made in my classroom. Once the sharpeners you donated arrived, the dynamics of the classroom changed right away. Students were able to sharpen pencils quickly. They no longer spent time manually sharpening pencils over the trash can. Moreover, their pencils did not break as often. The end result was happy students who had more time to dedicate to their school assignments and a cleaner classroom.
The students especially enjoyed the sharpener that would stop automatically once their pencil's lead was sharp! Thank you so much for supporting this essential need! ”
As a middle school teacher, I am always looking for new and exciting learning opportunities for my students. At this age, they are not always interested in the academic aspect of school.
By focusing the learning on themselves, I have found a way to reach the students. Your kind donation of scrapbooks has made a tremendous difference in my teaching and their learning.
By scrapbooking the significant middle school events and reflecting on their triumphs and disappointments, these books have become a learning tool.
Thank you again for your kind and generous donation.”
Our fourth and fifth grade students have had an amazing time with the baskets full of graphic novels. They think they are getting away with not reading during reading time, because they are actually having fun reading the graphic novels. Before this grant, we only had a few copies of several graphic novels. This was causing great problems in our classes because every student in the room wanted these books. But now, thanks to you and your generous donations we have many graphic novels on our shelves. And you can tell that they are "worn in" with love. We have many to choose from, but all our being used.
Thank you again, for helping to motivate our hard to reach students!!!”

Bam! Slam! Shazam! Thanks to you and your generous donations our kids are "Reading in Graphic Detail." Graphic novels are such a hot item in the publishing world and it is apparent why! Kids love them. Kids who hate to read love them! Our fourth and fifth grade students are obsessed with reading them. We give our kids a large block of time during the day to read independently. And during this time, every student in our class has a graphic novel in their hands. And this is all thanks to you. Before, every student couldn't have one because we didn't have enough. Now, our shelves are full of these books.
We are so grateful to your donation. Thanks so much,”

The package of novels arrived and I am so appreciative. Having an entire classroom set is almost unheard of and many of my colleagues have already asked to borrow this set when I am finished.
The novel "Uglies" focuses on inner beauty versus outer beauty and is a great teaching resource. I have read the entire series and wanted to use the first book of the series "Uglies" in my curriculum. Your kind donation will give my students the opportunity to read this novel and perhaps learn a life lesson.
Thank you so much for your kind donation. Rest assured that these novels will be well worn as I use them year after year.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Larson
