Salty on the outside, but soft in the center, these East Coast moms are not only hip, they say what they mean and mean what they say as they write about their lives in The Garden State, where they spend way too much time driving in traffic, being stuck in carpool lines, and dodging tourists on the Parkway or Turnpike. But they know that nothing beats strolling the boardwalks on the Jersey shore, hiking along the Delaware River, or rooting for the New Jersey Devils. These quintessential Jersey Girls will show you far more than the concrete, iron and rubber that you'll see in the opening credits of Sopranos.

Our writers are working moms, stay at home moms (SAHM), city moms, suburban moms, rural moms--but, most of all, they are opinionated moms. I want to thank you so much for funding my project. I can't wait to give them the news.I am sure the students will be just as excited as I am. Once again thank you”

I cannot thank you enough for this generous gift. My kids have been loving writing this year. I can't wait to make it even easier and more accessible to them. • What, Exactly, Are You Trying To Say?

    Funded Nov 9, 2008

Wow! This is great. I am so excited about the dictionaries your generous donation has made possible. I know that my students will be thrilled when they realize that they don't have to share the one copy that I have in my classroom. I can't wait to tell them that the dictionaries are on the way. They are so used to not having things that I know they will appreciate your caring and generosity. Thanks so much for our early holiday surprise”

  • Mapping Our Way through US Geography -- and 5th Grade!

    Funded Dec 30, 2008

What wonderful news! Like many schoolteachers, I have been spending my holiday break with the upcoming year in the back of my mind...In contemplating the successes and shortcomings of the previous four months, I realize that my students have been doing well but they still do not, in their ordinary conversation, refer to the United States in a concrete way. My students curiosity needs to be further awoken in this area, and I am convinced everyday map literacy will help. Maps are an excellent basis for teaching math, geography, history, literature, and of course current events. This is a wonderful way to start the (second) new year of fifth grade! Thank you to my donors”

Thank you so much for funding my proposal! These are wonderful, reusable resources that will benefit my students for several semesters. Having these resources will allow me to vary my instructional strategies to better teach my students. I will be using these books to help my students make important connections within Social Studies as well as across disciplines. Again, thank you so much for helping me better serve my students!

    Sincerely,

    Kristi”

  • Reading Is Power

    Funded Nov 1, 2008

Thank you so much for donating new books to our seventh grade classroom library! I know that there is no better way to raise my students' reading levels, while helping them to become lifelong lovers of reading, than to put great books in the kids' hands.

My current class is already falling in love with reading, and I'll be excited to show them great, new books to choose from. I think that the kids are starting to see reading as fun, and also as an escape from their sometimes hectic lives. This is a gift that your donation will continue to make possible”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. S.

  • Zoo Books - Bringing The Wildlife Indoors

    Funded Oct 3, 2008

Our children will be thrilled with the Zoo Books you have generously donated. Words can't express the gratitude I have for your thoughtfulness. Many of these students haven't been lucky enough to see these animals in person and ZooBooks is the next best thing. Perhaps in the future we'll be able to take them to the zoo. I am honored that you have considered our classroom and our kids. Your family should be proud to have such a wonderful, generous, caregiver. Thanks again”

    With gratitude,
