  • The Electrifying College Physics Experience

    Funded Dec 24, 2008

First let me say how inspirational it has been to watch this proposal over the past few months. When I came up with this proposal it was mostly a dream – a dream of having the equipment to give my students a college-prep physics course. Starting with nothing at the beginning of the year, the prospect of conducting such labs in my classroom seemed slim. Writing this letter now, I can barely control my enthusiasm. Working in urban schools, funding is nearly nonexistence. I thought it would take at least ten years to even have half the materials this proposal will provide. The great lessons and the massive amount of learning these lab materials will provide the students is overwhelming! These materials alone will provide labs for nearly the whole second half of the school year.

Because of your donation, I am confident that my students will walk into a college introductory physics lab and know their way around. Encouraging a love of science in urban students is so vital, and you have provided me with the wonderful vehicle for hands-on learning. I promise that these materials will be used to their fullest potential and that I will work hard to design curriculum that will utilize every instance of learning that the supplies can induce. My students invest in their education with time and hard work, and I assure you they will be exceedingly happy to hear the news of this proposal’s funding when we return from winter break. Thank you. You’ve made my path of educating brighter and you’ve opened doors for my students!

    Sincerely,

    Sara”

  • Lift The Load!

    Funded Oct 1, 2008

Thank you for your generous gift of the dual force sensors. Learning to use digital data collection will assist my students in their journey through their education, and it's fun to use cutting edge equipment. Science is already an eagerly anticipated lesson and these sensors will excite them even more, and improve their data analysis because they will know they are getting accurate information. We can hardly wait to get started! Thank you again”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Reeves

  • Create and Inspire Future Scientists

    Funded Oct 4, 2008

Thank you very much for all your help and support. Your donation has brought joy not only to my students, but to me as well. We look forward to getting to use these microscopes and being able to experiment with them. Now my students will be able to experience the wonderful world of science and I will be able to teach them about it. You have provided the opportunity for my students to gain new knowledge, and hopefully this will inspire the curiosity of future scientists”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sanchez

  • Classroom Science Equipment

    Funded Dec 13, 2008

Thank you for making it possible for my young students to learn on their own time and at their own pace! You have no idea how great it makes me feel, and how excited I am. I cannot wait for the equipment to arrive, so the students can work with it on the spur of the moment. They have already worked with the balances which were obtained from the main building, and had to be returned. Now that I will have a class set, they can really learn about density! Once again, thank you.

  • Sizzling Science

    Funded Oct 17, 2008

I just don't know how to thank you for your generous gift. My students will be so excited and thrilled to hear of our good fortune of receiving these materials. They will be working very hard to create science projects that will further what they have learned in class and may spur some interest in a career in science. Most importantly, they will know that people in the world really do care about them and want to help them succeed.

Because of the rigors of the standardized testing which will take place in mid-March, we will not be starting our work on the projects until then and will culminate with a big science fair in early May.

Again, thank you from all of us for your generosity and caring.

    Sincerely,

    Bernadett”

  • Science Is pHun!

    Funded Oct 15, 2008

Thank you for your donation towards the "Science is pHun" proposal. My students beg to go into lab everyday. Your donation has finally made it possible for hundreds of students in a struggling neighborhood to experience science hands-on, instead of just reading from a textbook. Your donation will impact the lives of my students immediately and in the future. Thank you again for your kindness and support”

  • Enhance Learning Through Scientific Exploration

    Funded Dec 16, 2008

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students have been anticipating these much needed materials and will be so excited to receive them. These tools will really help enhance their learning in science. They LOVE science so much and are always looking for new ways to manipulate and experiment with the information that they have learned. I cannot explain to you how much these materials will add to our curriculum and how much they mean to my wonderful children! Your generosity has already made a world of difference. Thank you so very much”

  • Young Scientists Yearn To Learn!!!

    Funded Oct 24, 2008

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for funding this project. My little scientists have been yearning to get their hands on some concrete learning materials, but we simply haven't had the resources. As a result of your generosity and selflessness, my class of 22 gifted and talented students will finally be able to better understand the scientific concepts that I am presenting to them. Each of the items that I have requested will come in handy this year and for many years to come. I can now allow my students to work to their full potential by using the science materials to enhance the learning process. Thank you again so much, from myself and my students”

  • Let's See Newton's Laws Of Motion

    Funded Oct 16, 2008

How wonderful to learn that our request for the Newtonian demonstrators has been fulfilled. Thank you very much. This item is the best I've found to allow students to "see" Newton's third law of motion. Currently I have one that allows me to demonstrate, but learning is always limited when students cannot experience the science for themselves. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Mrs. ”
