We have often struggled in the past to find just enough funding to do the things that students really need to do in order to experience science. Science is a quest that is achieved best by doing, and not just by sitting through memorization activities. I am certain that you are aware of the frustrations teachers and students alike feel when educational gains are limited by financial factors. Thank you so very much for providing the science resources that my students and I have requested! We cannot wait to receive these materials, which will allow us to begin a much more thorough examination of the scientific concepts related to alternative energy sources. When we come back from our winter break in January, we will be focusing our efforts on Astronomy, which will lend itself to Solar Energy as an alternative energy source. I am positive that the students will find the topic much more interesting, thanks to your generous funding of "hands-on" science activities related to the topic. In addition, the science encyclopedias will provide outstanding opportunities for the students to read about the concepts, while we construct the related science kits.

My students will be thrilled to use the pedometers. Children with autism are so different; yet, walking is universal. The pedometers will bring everybody at the school closer and a jolt of energy to the adaptive physical education class.
