  • Help Fill Perpetually-Hungry Teenage Stomachs!

    Funded May 19, 2008

Thank you so much for your generous gift! I am extremely excited that we'll be able to start the next school year with a full pantry! The past few weeks, I have been spending about $20 a month out of my own pocket to help my students focus during this critical time of year. By funding this proposal, you're providing more food than I could afford to buy, and enabling me to say "yes!" when they ask me if I have any pretzels or other snacks stashed away.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Chase

  • Breathing For Better Reading!

    Funded Jan 21, 2008

Thank you so much for funding my project! With these yoga materials I will finally be able to teach my students yoga. This yoga instruction will be part of our larger expedition on "healthy bodies, healthy minds". My hope is to show my students a world beyond TV and video games. A place where exercise is fun and good for you! I would not have been able to do this expedition without your support. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

  • Connect The Dots For Physical Education

    Funded Jan 21, 2008

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students at Forest Park Elementary will definitely benefit. With your donation, I plan on buying numbered poly-spots. These spots will be used to integrate math into physical activity. It is vital that our children learn a healthy, active lifestyle while they are young and that they can incorporate everything they are learning into their "play" time. Again, thank you for donating and helping me encourage my students to be physically and mentally active.

    Sincerely,

    Darrin M. ”

  • The Most BANG for Your BUCK

    Funded Jan 11, 2008

I cannot describe the gratitude that is pouring from my heart right now. Your generous gift of an LCD projector for my Environmental Science class has just made my year! After the few times I've been able to borrow a projector for a class, my students have practically begged me to find another one. But since writing the proposal, the only projector available at our school stopped functioning, so the timing could not be more perfect. I am also about to launch into a unit on biomes. This projector will allow me to teach students skills that will impact their future--how to use Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint for data analysis and presentation. I cannot wait to wake up tomorrow and share this wonderful news with my students, who I am certain will be just as grateful and excited as I am.

Your generosity and thoughtfulness has renewed my hopes for my students and for public education in America. I am truly beginning to believe that there are enough of us who are committed to eliminating educational disparities to really make a difference.

I look forward to seeing how we utilize this amazing new resource in my science classroom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    Sincerely,

    Kaitlin ”

  • A Spark Of Imagination For School And Home

    Funded Jan 10, 2008

I would like to thank you for taking the time to pick up my class project. I believe that emphasizing the importance of reading both in school and at home is not only a way to build reading stamina and success but also self- esteem. Thank You for showing my students that others also think that reading is important enough to draw attention to the fact that people read at home and other places than school.

    Once again THANK YOU!!!

  • An Outdoor Classroom

    Funded Dec 29, 2007

Fresh air, here we come! I am so excited that I think I am going to burst. I was hoping and praying that this proposal would get funded and it did thanks to you. I cannot tell you how much we need these materials for our grade level. If I could, I would teach my students outside all day long. These materials that you have generously funded are coming to us at such a perfect time. Our school is in the process of being rebuilt and they moved all the picnic tables to the outside of my classroom. These materials are perfect to use on the tables and the surrounding area. Now I have the materials I need to keep them engaged while they are getting the much needed fresh air. I really appreciate your generosity and kindness. I can not wait to return to school and tell the children. I am sure they will be as excited as I am. Thanks again, you are the best”

  • Extreme Makeover

    Funded Dec 29, 2007

Thank you for funding this proposal. This is a special proposal to me because the school district supplies school materials; however furniture is another thing. My classroom is in need of new furniture because the old furniture is worn and old. It has been around for many many years. Therefore, the students and myself are very thankful for getting this proposal funded. These new tables will brighten up our classroom and make it conducive for a positive learning environment. Once again thank you for funding this well needed proposal”

  • Help! Our School Has Run Out Of Paper!

    Funded Dec 24, 2007

Thank you so much for the paper! I can't wait to see the office ladies' faces when they hear we got this grant. Everyone has been hyper stressed about the situation--to the point where arguments are breaking out about who used what paper. This will be a relief to all of the teachers and staff. We will finally be able to get the students the resources they need to be successful! This means so much to so many people. Thank you again!

    Sincerely,

    April ”

  • Play for Everyone

    Funded Dec 22, 2007

Yeah!! I am so excited! The children will think that Christmas has lasted an extra long time when they return from break to find that they actually have something to play with during recess. Thanks so much. You have helped many children in more ways than just play equipment. Thanks again for your generous donation”
