BerwynCARES and the Berwyn Arts Council have partnered to create this blogger challenge. Berwyn is a collar suburb of Chicago with great needs and limited resources. Please help our teachers!
Thank you for your donation of a boom box, sheet music, and CDʼs to our theatre department! Your donation will make it possible for our children to learn solos and duets in musical theatre. Our children are musically inclined, but do not have easy access to music. I hope to perform theatre workshops with them and teach them how to conduct themselves onstage. What a wonderful way to give our children individual attention and exposure to the arts! Thank you again for your help.
I am so excited about your generous donation to my first grade class! The camera and printer will add a new life to our writing curriculum! There is no limit to what we might be able to do! I just know that they will be thrilled to take the pictures themselves and then quickly see the results of their work with the printer!
I can't thank you enough for thinking of us and helping to make learning an exciting experience for these children. Thank you so much!!
I am so excited about your donation to my project! Having the easel will create another place for the 28 children to work on literacy skills. We are using a center-based approach to allow more independent practice of skills because studies have shown that the independent practice time is when the learning is applied and then stored permanently.
I can't thank you enough for your generosity! I am thrilled and the kids will be, too!! We are so grateful!! '
Sincerely,
Ter”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ann Taylor and one other donor.
Thank you so much for funding our project. I am very excited to give our middle school students these resources so that they can better prepare for their roles in "The Diary of Anne Frank." The students are highly motivated 6 - 8 graders who love the challenge of this play. The pencils and highlighters will be used by the actors. The dictionaries and other books will be used by over 40 crew members and 10 actors that have signed up so far to join our team. Thank you again”
Thank you so much for your donation of a sewing machine and sewing materials to our department! Your donation will make it possible for us to make costumes for our children. We look forward to receiving the materials this fall and creating costumes for our upcoming plays: Fiddler on the Roof and The Diary of Anne Frank. Before receiving your donation, we did not have a way to put costumes together for the children. Now we will be able to allow our children to wear real costumes for their plays! Thank you again!
Thank you for your generous donation of microphones and stands. Your contribution makes it possible for us to allow all of our children to be heard on stage.
Since its inception, our drama department has endeavored to bring speaking and performance arts skills to low-income children. In this year we have made the first key steps toward this goal. This is only possible because of thoughtful contributions from people like you.
Thank you again, for the gift you have given the children. They look forward to the arrival of their new sound equipment.
I can't tell you enough how incredibly excited I am this morning. I went to my email, the first thing that I do, and what do I read? "Drooling for Dictionaries" has been fully funded. I literally jumped up and down at my computer and ran through the house yelling "I was funded", "I was funded". I scared even the cat who went running to clear out of my way! I feel so amazing right now and it is all because of your generosity. I know these dictionaries will be put to use. The students that I have crave knowledge and this gives them that. Thank you so much for funding my project. I feel truly blessed and am awed and humbled by your amazing support. THANK YOU, THANK YOU and a million times THANK YOU!”
A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who donated to "We're Ready For Some (Flag) Football". My students were thrilled when I gave them the news. We are all looking forward to the start of our league in the fall. I cannot stress how important this will be for my students to have a safe & fun activity to do right after school. We are fortunate to have donors like you to make our dreams come true. Now it's official: We ARE ready for some flag football thanks to all of you”
Thank you so very much for your donation toward the purchase of the globe for our first grade class. The children are so excited about having a globe that will talk to them! They love to learn about the world and this will work perfectly in our classroom. They work independently in centers and they can't wait to add the globe to the list of available projects. I sincerely appreciate your generosity!
I am so grateful for your donation to my classroom! The children have been so excited about getting the tables - I can't wait to tell them we were able to get them funded! You are making a lot of six and seven year olds very happy. And of course, I am thrilled that we will not have to worry about desks tipping over and/or pinching fingers. Thank you so much for your generosity. I can not thank you enough”
