I am thrilled to learn that my "Don't Mess with Texas" project has been funded. I want to thank all of the donors for helping make this project possible. The timing is also amazing. We are starting the project on April 9. As you know, we are going to be studying a real problem that exists on our school campus, the lack of recycling. The students will be studying the problem and proposing solutions. They will be presenting them to the principal of our school and then to the school board in hopes of making real changes in our entire district. Students will be using mathematics in a real world context. I look forward to sharing with you the results of the project; both the outcome of the project and the impact it makes on the students.
Thank you for sharing my passion for this project through your donation.
Thank you for funding the Gateway to Democracy and Freedom. I'm excited to begin work with our students and know this opportunity will provide them with a solid foundation in becoming productive citizens. I look forward to documenting this programs successes.
Thank you so much on behalf of my earth science class. This simulation model will be extremely beneficial to my students as we cover our water unit in the upcoming semester. As many of my students are unfamiliar with environmental processes, as they live in an incredibly industrialized urban area, they often have difficulty visualizing concepts in Earth Science and this simulation model will undoubtedly aid in their comprehension”
This was indeed like the appearance of a most special and unanticipated gift under the tree. If you have seen the movie A Christmas Story, my excitement upon opening my email today and seeing this confirmation was no less than the little boy who received his Red Ryder BB gun. However, we will not shoot our eyes out. Rather we will engage the students in discovering the potential for making real changes in a world of incredible possibility.
Your magnanimous gift will be the beginning for opening doors for these students into the world of alternative energy, physics and consideration for how to solve a very pressing issue for our society. I cannot thank you enough.
Receiving this grant is such wonderful news! My students and I are extremely honored and excited to have the resources to pursue a curriculum based on sustainable development.
I strongly believe that the human race is at a seminal moment in history and there is strong evidence that humans are changing the world's environment. Because of this, it is critical for schools to teach courses that discuss the what humanity is doing to the environment and what needs to be done to mitigate and reverse our impact on the earth. The goal of this type of course is to point out to students that our current consumption patterns must be examined in light of their impact on Earth and on society.
Again, thank you for supporting this course. It is important topics students think critically on the impact that our consumer society is having on the world.
Thank you so much for your generous contribution. My class lost 15 computers this year to a classroom switch and my class was moved to an after school activity. As a result I have had to lend out my personal laptop to editors involved in sports to complete layouts. These will help get the layout completed much quicker and will be a lot easier for my students to do the work they need.
You have no idea how much this means to the school, the program, myself and most importantly my students! Thank you so, so, so much! This will truly give my students something to be grateful for this Thanksgiving.
On behalf of my students, THANK YOU! We are so excited to receive the GrowLab for our classroom. Our garden project is already underway, and our little seedling need a way to be nourished this winter. Thank you for your donation and for this amazing resource. This could not have been possible without you.
Thank you for funding my request for the alternative energy videolab. I expect to use this resource in all my classes not only this year but in future years to come. Our students will be adults making decisions about our societies energy choices in the near future. The more they are educated about alternative energy the better the decisions they will be able to make.
Thank you,
