This is The Scientific Activist's challenge in the ScienceBlogs/DonorsChoose 2007 fundraising drive. Let's do our part to help properly fund science education to help create a brighter future for us all! Thanks for your generosity. Click here to visit my blog.
Our school is so appreciative of this generous gift. Weather is so much a part of our everyday lives. This gift of a weather station will help our students better understand how weather affects not only what we decide to wear each day, but how it affects growing crops and resulting prices we pay. We are currently experiencing a drought in North Carolina while the Mississippi Valley states have just experienced a flood. We will look at the forces that are creating this dichotomy. With our weather station, we will start an official weather history for our area and use this to predict trends in weather for the future. Your contribution to our school will benefit students for years to come.
Again, we thank you for your generosity and foresight.
Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to apply concepts taught in science to real world issues. With numerous discussions taking place in political and economic circles, it will be a great chance for students to see a real world example of what is taking place around them. I look forward to letting you know how the students are progressing with this opportunity. Again, thank you”
On behalf of the Second Graders at Western Hills Primary, I would like to thank you for your generous donation. We are excited to use the new digital video camera to record our accomplishments in reading, writing, science, social studies, and mathematics. Your gift will inject even more fun and excitement into the learning process for us.
My class is extremely excited by your generous gift. I have spent much of our class time teaching my class about the importance of energy conservation. We built a South Carolina Wildlife Garden. We are constantly studying the issues surrounding global warming. As fourth graders, they can help our community become greener. We are very involved in studying the environment They are the future generation who will be in charge of saving our planet.
Thank you so much for this donation. I teach Chemistry first period and the e-mail for this confirmation appeared as I was taking attendance. I stopped the class and read the proposal to my students they are so excited. The other science teacher immediately wanted to know if we could share the rock tumbler. We are also almost to the lesson on line emissions, so this comes at the perfect time. With your help we definitely have just increased the opportunities for our students in Chemistry.
I am thrilled by your generosity and really appreciate your investment in the children. Theses children will benefit immensely and your gift will touch their lives in ways you cannot imagine. Just last Tuesday, one of my students said, "I will be one of the astronauts who make the first mission to Mars." Your donation will enable him to make that first step. So thank you once more.
I was thrilled to see that our proposal to work with genetics materials had been funded with your generous support. Thank you for helping to improve the science learning our school! Our kids are wonderful: recent immigrants, many of them economic or political refugees, struggling to find a new life here in the States. Our philosophy is that hands-on learning is the best way to bridge the educational, cultural and linguistic gaps that are so evident in these diverse classrooms. The lab equipment you have provided will do wonders to bring a very abstract but important set of concepts into a very tangible focus. Thank you so very, very much”
Thank you so much for contributing to my student's real life experience with DNA. These materials will help them more fully understand the structure of DNA and the power that having that knowledge has allowed crimes to be solved, parents and children to be identified as well as cures for diseases. The DNA revolution is apart of their modern world and you have helped me help them to understand it. Thank you again, very much!
I can't believe it! I am ecstatic about the generosity you have shown to the students and parents at my school. Oh yeah, me too! This is going to be such a wonderful experience for all of us. We have our science night scheduled and the kids are excited. I am so very thankful and appreciative of your generosity in funding this project. What a great difference you have made for the life of the students and their parents. Again, I cannot thank you enough for your sincere generosity”
Thank you so much for your donation. I'm so excited. With your donation, my students would have the opportunity to conduct a scientific study. In addition, your donation would also help my students increase their basic math skill and understanding. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU”
With gratitude,
Ms. Nguyen
