  • Which Came First....The Chicken Or The Egg?

    Funded Dec 11, 2007

We can not begin to thank you for your generosity and support in our lifecycle learning journey. Without your help we would have been unable to learn about the development of chickens. It is a wonderful opportunity, as a teacher, to be able fulfill the questions and desires of my students. Thank you for giving us this opportunity. My students and I are truly grateful”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. A.

  • Bulldogs Ask: Who Let the Science Out?

    Funded Nov 20, 2007

My students and I are so pleased to learn that our project "Bulldogs Ask: Who Let the Science Out?" has been funded thanks to your generous donation! We are so excited about the prospect of studying live animals in our classroom! Students learn by doing. Our new aquarium, animal habitat and worm farm will go a long way in helping these deserving students get some hands-on experiences. What a wonderful Thanksgiving this is for my class! We are truly thankful for your donation and we will use these materials to become thoughtful young scientists!

    Sincerely,

Ms. G and the Kindergarten Students at Harris Elementar”

Words can not express the excitement and gratitude I feel. These materials will provide my current and future students with many hours of relevant hands on science experiences. They will have a better grasp of the world around them because of your generosity.

  • Insect Book Series

    Funded Oct 16, 2007

What a wonderful surprise to find this exciting set funded. Insects are a part of the kindergarten science standards' list, but we have never had a set of appropriate books to go with our visit from the San Francisco Zoo Insectarium. I can hardly wait for them to arrive. I know how much fun the children will have with these materials, while they are learning many valuable things about the world's largest animal kingdom.

I have fourteen second language children in my classroom this year (20 total), including Tagalog, Spanish and Chinese. They need lots of visuals in order to develop English comprehension skills. I selected this set, because the illustrative materials in each book is quite a bit better than that found in most books for young learners.

You have made me so happy and my class will have such a lovely time with these materials. Thank you so much for such a valuable gift.

  • Getting Down and Getting Dirty

    Funded Oct 6, 2007

What a difference you have just made. You have opened up a world to my students that they would not have gotten to experience other wise. The students jumped out of their seats with excitement when I told them our science center had been funded. They already have science experiments they want to explore racing through their heads. I can already see future Marie Curies and Albert Einsteins being developed.

As a teacher I want to personally thank you for supporting the education of the future of America. There are so many great causes and charities out there that education all too often gets overlooked. I usually have to fund most things on my own and well a teacher's pay does not cover it. You have personally renewed my faith in people caring about education.

    Thank you again,

    Kelly J
