Welcome to the Tuolumne County's DonorsChoose Giving Page. Please consider donating to one of the projects listed on this page. All donations will directly benefit students.
Thank you so much for donating to our class project. My students dissected the eye at the beginning of the year and were able to identify each part and each part's function. They had to wait until the end of the school year to dissect the heart and brain, but the wait was worth the suspense. We had enough sheep hearts and sheep brains to allow each pair of students to dissect their own organ. Every student received a hands-on experience, and all were up to the task, even though some thought the grossness factor was off the charts. Thank you again for your generosity. ”
Thank you so much for your generous donations. We have several old cameras that we use in our publications class. We began three years ago with five old cameras, and were down to two at the end of last year. It became difficult to catch all the activity at our school with just the two cameras, not to mention the quality of the photos. With the new camera, we are able to be in more places at once. The camera takes beautiful pictures, and our yearbook has never looked better. Thank you once again.”
I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for your generosity. Two cameras do not seem like much, but to the two students who have been using those two cameras this semester, it meant that they could participate in the photography class and contribute photos to our yearbook.
In both classes, students learned the elements of composition, lighting basics, and manipulating digital images on the computer. We all share our photos and discuss the successes and the disappointments we experience.
This year was the first year that our yearbook was created digitally by the students. It was the first year the cover was designed by the students with a student'ÂÂs photograph featured as part of the design. As an educator, I feel great when I see the smiles on their faces as they see their work being published.
I have let the students know that the skills they learned related to graphic arts should be listed in all future college applications and job resumes.
I am including some of the student art created in the class with the photographs. Just last month, one of the cameras captured the images of the mother and calf humpback whales we saw on a field trip.
Again, your contribution to our educational program is greatly appreciated. The students know that they have the cameras because of caring people such as yourselves. ”

Our class has thoroughly enjoyed having the chalkboards to practice cursive. My class takes cursive very seriously. We were able to purchase cursive books this year. This particular program provides a variety of ways for the students to practice handwriting. Whenever I ask the students to pull out their books, someone always asks if we are going to practice on the new boards. It is important to be able to offer differentiated instruction so that all students feel a sense of success. The boards you have provided for our class does just that.”
My students and I are really enjoying all the supplies and curriculum materials we received in Hands on Learning. During literacy time we are using the Magnet ABC boards and the ABC letter beads to build words. We use the paint blocks and play-do to be creative and do new art projects. With the foam blocks and wooden cars children are building roads and streets and creating mini towns to play with at free choice time. We are all very appreciative of these new supplies to help us learn, create and have fun!”
Thank you all for your kindness. My students are really becoming new readers and are enjoying the new books we received. Having a number of different levels is so important with young readers because everyone can then read at their own pace and level. I love having more than one copy of each level also so that I can use them with small groups of students and not just one student at a time. They can also put them in their "Partner book baskets" to enjoy together.
My students and I really appreciate your donations!”
Our classroom is in constant need of updated computer related supplies. The most recent has been headphones for the classroom. I have two students in the afternoon who cannot read and having these headphones has allowed me one more way of bringing literacy into their life. One of the boys cannot read past a 1st grade reading level. He can hear stories on CD that are above his level and the computer will read the questions out loud to him. This has allowed him to expand his vocabulary and challenge his comprehension from listening to the stories. My other student follows stories on a reading program and can see each word highlighted as he reads. He will not read words out loud, so I feel this is building his reading skills.
We thank you for caring and contributing to our classroom. Please know this makes a huge difference, even if it helps two students it is worth it.”
Words can not express what this camera has brought to my classroom. I can only hope that pictures will. You have placed the magic of modern technology into the hands of these awesome kids, I get to call my students. This technology has added to our science nitpicking process, portrait picture taking, and our classroom scrapbook!
I feel very lucky to have so many people who support me and my classroom. You all have made a huge impact on my life and the lives of my students. I appreciate all the love and support you provide on a daily basis.
This is just a small token of my appreciation for your very kind and generous donation to my classroom. The white boards and pens help my students every day in a variety of subjects. We use them to do math facts, math equations, rounding, spelling, and vocabulary practice. Students are using this fabulous resource daily!
Our school is currently facing a budget crisis, so with your help, my students were able to have these supplies which are vital in the classroom. For students who learn successfully when they "do" an activity this contribution has been crucial to their learning.
Without donors like you, thousands of students would be without such valuable resources.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to enrich the curriculum in my classroom. Your donation was very generous. My students are a wonderful group. They love to write and they get very excited about art. They love to create their own projects with the materials that were purchased with your donation. They like projects that are fun to make and it gives the children the chance to feel proud to hang it in the classroom and carry it home.
I believe that art is a vital and enriching part of the life of every child. I believe it should be a part of curriculum. Art can be a pleasant successful, enriching, and daily experience for all involved. Art lessons need to inspire children to be able to express their own ideas and experiences with an enormous feeling of self-accomplishment. By making art a part of each day, children will be exposed to new ideas and various media. I will use different techniques to motivate, to further creative experiences, and exploration in art. The children will discover new ways to express their own feelings, experiences, and ideas.
I appreciate your effort to provide financial assistance for educational enriching activities. Thank you for helping me succeed to be the best teacher I can be. This has allowed me to add a few special touches with our limited budget. They are well deserving students. We appreciate your support!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gold
