There are really no words that can express my gratitude. The boards my students received impacted their learning by creating more enthusiasm and allowing them to take charge of their learning. As we journey on this road of education I find it essential that my students learn: they are first and foremost president of their own business, the company of ME ,which is any task they may pursue.
Education is the one thing that keeps this business afloat, and they must take themselves to be the most precious commodity of all. Reading, math, social studies and science will come alive when these boards are placed in my children's hands. The ability to immediately print and copy my discoveries on line has made me a more informed and prepared teacher. Again thank you for making my job even more rewarding. Learning is a lifestyle”
First of all, please accept my sincere apologies for the tardiness of this letter. My mother passed away recently and some of my obligations were put on the back burner during this difficult time. The tardiness is definitely not an indication of my level of appreciation for your support to my class project.
The students in my personal finance and careers class were very excited to use the board games you purchased to enhance the skills we covered in our classes. The games provided "real" world experiences with topics such as ethics on the job, managing personal bank accounts, getting a job, and exposure to various careers.
I would not have been able to provide such experiences for my students without your financial support. Please know that your contribution made a difference in the lives of my students.”
My students and I would like to thank you for your generous gift. Your commitment to helping children is sincerely appreciated. Your generosity has enabled me to introduce basic financial concepts to my very eager students. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that my proposal had been funded. Thanks again for your generous support of teachers and students through DonorsChoose.org”
We are so thankful for your generous gift which allowed the purchase of a variety of books and materials for our classroom. Financial literacy is very important for today's teenagers. Marketing and advertising companies gear many of their campaigns at the tweens and teens age group. These children can learn to make responsible choices now and throughout their lives.
We appreciate the extra effort you have gone to in helping fund projects such as this in classrooms all across the country!
You cannot begin to imagine the immediate impact your donation has had in our classroom. Incorporating money with math has linked the real world with what students are learning in our classroom. In addition, the new play money has sparked the curiosity essential in motivating students. Not only have my students become more interested in math, but they have also become more engaged during math lessons.
After all the fun and excitement of opening the packages we received, it was time to make the connections. The materials were delivered at a perfect time. A time when we were reviewing specific standards and preparing to take the state standardized test. The manipulatives offered students an extension of their previous learning.
I truly want to thank you for allowing our classroom to learn by doing. Whenever we can learn using a hands-on approach, we leave our desks behind and create experiences that students can enjoy and learn from. It makes learning memorable, and creates links between what they are learning and how it's used in the real world. From the bottom of my heart, thanks again for your kindness and thank you for caring for my all deserving students.
There is one more thing you have helped teach my students, the power of giving. I truly believe that everyone has the capacity of giving no matter how big or how small. We will pass on what you have taught us. ”
Thank you for your donation to our classroom. The real world experience for the students will be a great opportunity for them to learn how to make change using "real money". We appreciate what you are doing for these student and are grateful for all that you do. The experiences they receive will be irreplaceable. I am extremely excited to receive these material and provide a more meaningful lesson using real world experiences, while also having the opportunity to give them practice in centers. I can't express how amazing it feels to know you will have the opportunity to help students understand a concept and also have fun doing so. Thank you so much for your interest in our students and your donation to making learning a more magical experience”
I am a first year teacher with the Teach for America program. Adjusting to the life of a teacher has been very difficult. It is a challenging job working with students with so many needs. I have a class full of 23 really ambitious and energetic students and it can be difficult handling them all on my own. I have kids as high as a 6th grade reading level and as low as pre-K, plus all of those in between. These are also children from a very low-income community. They do not get the same resources that their peers do in wealthier neighborhoods do.
I want to give these kids every resource I can get my hands on. Because of your donation the unit on money has been a great success! I taught this unit in a unique way; by teaching students about money through the terms of savings rather than spending. Many units on money focus on what you can buy with the money you have. I made a point to focus on piggy banks and coupons during this unit. The students earned money through different tasks throughout the unit. The person who saved the most money was praised each day. They were responsible for saving their money and not losing it. The students learned so much because the information applied to their every day life.
The students achieved 90% average on the unit test! Without your support I would not have been able to do everything I did. The students were able to interact with math in ways they never would have been able to without these supplies.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your generous donation. I urge you to continue supporting public schools through sites like Donors Choose making this an important issue for you in your voting decisions.
Thank you again for your generous donation!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ross

Words cannot fully express my gratitude for your generous gift! Thank you for purchasing the financial learning tools for my English Language Learners. Your donation will improve the financial literacy education in my future classrooms for many years to come!
I am using the large magnetic money, shapes/colors bingo and numbers bingo with my kindergarten students. My first graders began using the money puzzles, money bingo, and addition bingo on the same day we received them in the mail! My third and fourth grade students
L-O-V-E playing "The Allowance Game". I have found that each of the money games provide great money management practice for all!
Thanks again for helping me provide my students with a solid foundation in financial literacy. Please feel free to visit Donorschoose.org to view the classroom photos posted!
Thank you so much for your generosity in donating 20 TI30-SX multi-view calculators to my classroom. All of my classes have loved using them especially my lower achieving students. Those students really struggle with basic computations involving percents, fractions, and decimals. These calculators go a long way to helping them over that hurdle and to understanding the everyday application of mathematics. I teach a math money course to high school juniors and seniors, and helping them come to understand practical applications of mathematics is a rewarding experience. To have students come back after graduation and tell me that my course has helped them more than anything else is why I do my job. ”

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and one other donor.
I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous gift to our classroom. The hours of learning and enjoyment you provided for my students is invaluable.
When the package arrived, the students' eyes lit up in amazement as I pulled out the play money, the financial literacy books, and the ELMO Visual Presenter. The students could not wait to use the Math Manipulatives and the play money. We have now completed several lessons incorporating the books and supplies to teach about financial literacy. The students now have a good idea the importance of saving money for the future and to count money and make change. The students also eagerly waited to hook up the ELMO Visual Presenter and use it, and now several weeks later, every time we turn it on I see the same level of excitement. The ELMO Visual Presenter has made my job as a teacher much easier and saved so much paper since I no longer have to photocopy something I want to share with the students. The students also love using the ELMO Visual Presenter to share their work with the class or to make presentations. It really has brought a new level of learning to my classroom. For this I am very grateful. On behalf of myself and the students, I want to thank you. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated.
”
With gratitude,
Ms. K.
