  • Miraculous Microscopes!

    Funded Nov 16, 2011

First off, I want to thank you all so much for your support! Without you, this project would not have been possible! I tried to apply for this project once before and unfortunately ran out of time before it was fully funded. I cannot express how grateful my students and I are! The microscopes have supplied so many wonderful experiences for my students! I have used these microscopes with my elementary students, some as young as 7, and watched as their eyes lit up with excitement and wonder! They have learned everything from the proper care and handling of microscopes, to how to record and draw their observations of images from the slides. I truly feel I have ignited a passion for science in each of my students through our explorations. They have been set on the right path for future science explorations in middle school, high school, and beyond! Thank you all so much for making that happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jambura

  • Microscope Mania!

    Funded Oct 23, 2011

Thank you very much for your donation to the project "Microscope Mania!" I greatly appreciate your generosity, which will benefit many students for years to come.

Microscopes are an integral part of science laboratory equipment. The use of microscopes applies to various sciences, from life science and biology, to chemistry and earth science. Using the microscopes, the students have viewed animal cells, plant cells, and hair, among other materials. Being able to view their world up-close gives the students a greater appreciation for science, and the world they live in. I am thankful that the students now have this opportunity. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wheeler

  • I Can't See It! Now I Can! Yea!!!

    Funded Oct 24, 2011

Being able to see different items under a microscope in class has been a dream of mine for many years. I love being able to take out my microscopes at anytime of the day to view what ever I have collected for the class. I have even allowed other students in lower grades to come and join my class.

We would like to thank you all for donating microscopes to our classroom. We have really enjoyed using them.‚ It has allowed us to accomplish so much more in Science. Having the hands on experience that our microscopes have given us is a blessing. We have taken the time to share our good fortune with other fifth grade classes and they enjoy them as well. It will aide in raising tests scores and it has allowed students to participate in experiments in the classroom with their teacher. Again, thank you all for giving us an opportunity of a life time.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nicholson

  • Looking At The Micro World Around Us

    Funded Oct 27, 2011

I can not even begin to tell you how much i appreciate your donation to my project. This project was a huge success, thanks to your help. Upon getting the materials, I was so eager to show off this amazing view of the microscopic world around us to my students. My students were stunned. Many of them had never seen a microscope, let alone use one. The slides that were provided helped utilize this important tool and provided an amazing experience that I am sure they will never forget. These slides proved to be a valuable tool and captivated the interest of my students. I originally planned on only using the slides for two days, but I found that the students craved more time to experience these slides and I had to alter my plans and extend the slides to be included in an entire week of lessons.

Once again, I want to extend my thanks and my highest gratitude for your donation. I can not even begin to fully express how I feel and the excitement and joy you brought to my students by providing the supplies for this valuable learning experience. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Petriccione

  • SIMS-Another World: It's Microscopic

    Funded Oct 27, 2011

I cannot express how grateful I am to have received this wonderful donation of microscopes and slides to use in my class. We have used them many times to see microscopic life in our very room and from around our area. We have also used them in earth science to look at thin crystals, dirt, and rocks. My students were amazed to see that rocks are make of tiny crystals. We have also used them in physical science to see what cloth is made of and how it is woven together. These microscopes have really opened up the microscopic world for my students. They expressed the excitement of using "way better equipment than last year", and with so many to pass around, their wait in line for a turn to look through the microscope is so much shorter now.

When I started teaching at this school a year ago, I had very little equipment to use in the many labs I wished to do with my students. Now the doors are opening for these labs thanks to you and your generosity. I feel that I am making a bigger impact on our future scientists.

With your help, I can make science fun, exciting, and come alive for my students now and generations to come.

    Thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Adams
