The Pontiff's Pseudo Physicists Challenge

Part of: Science Blogs
  • $840raised
  • 4projects funded
Welcome! The projects below remind me of the best of my educational experiences. They are fun, involve games and popular science books. And there's even biology from the closest project to where I grew up (real Northern California FTW!) - The Quantum Pontiff
  • Physics of Superheros

    Funded Feb 5, 2009

Thank you for supporting my students by allowing me to use the "Physics of Superheros" book in my classroom. This is actually the second book that I use. The first one is called"Microbe Hunters" and it is used by my seventh graders. Reading and discussing that book in class was a big hit for my students and a great success. I also teach eighth grade science and decided to locate a good book for them. When I came across the "Physics of Superheros", I instantly knew that this was the book for them. In eighth grade, we cover physical science which includes a lot of elementary physics. The book does an excellent job of discussing some potentally challenging physics topics. Thanks again for allowing us to explore a difficult topic in a fun way.”

Thank you so much for funding these wonderful board games for my first grade classroom! My students are going to be over the moon when they see these wonderful board games. I am extremely grateful for this donation. I am thrilled and excited. I cannot wait to see the faces of my students when we get our packages. Thank you so much!I am forever grateful.

  • DNA Models for Biology Classes

    Funded Dec 1, 2008

Thank you so much for helping to fund my DNA models! I am so excited to be getting these materials for my students. They are going to be used this year as we study DNA during Spring semester. Not only will my three advanced Biology classes use them, but all of our General Biology classes (there are 6) will use them as well. That means over 300 students will use these models this year alone! We will keep them in our science store room so we can use them in future years.

Thanks again for your support of my Biology students and your commitment to education.
