  • Science Trip For Our Amazing Urban Students

    Funded Nov 4, 2008

You have no idea what a difference your donation is going to make in our 5th grade. As you know, our students come from very low income families and we are doing everything that we can to bring the cost of learning down. We now do not have to purchase all of these supplies and snacks resulting in a cheaper overall trip for the students. More students will be able to attend the trip and experience many things that they otherwise would have been unable to experience. Many of our students have never left our city, let alone being able to go 4 hrs to the ocean on an island. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Your donation has made a difference in 87 5th graders' lives.

    Thank You,

    Ton”

  • Life Cycles Explosion!

    Funded Oct 19, 2008

Thank you so much! I know the children will be thrilled with the hands-on learning that will take place with these life cycle materials! I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they see real live butterflies, frogs, ladybugs and plants grow right before their very eyes! The books, pocket charts and slides will add so much to their understanding of the transformations taking place in these live creatures. We are exploring an ant farm right now and they are absolutely intrigued by the tunnels and team work they have seen with their new little friends. Your funding has come at a perfect time to add to their excitement and give them so many more science adventures to look forward to!

Thank you for your generosity and kindness”

  • Smile....We love science!

    Funded Oct 22, 2008

Thank you for investing in our future leaders. My students will enjoy using the Simple Science Exploration Tubs during our school year. Providing these funds will allow the students to understand hands-on learning about science today. The students will have the opportunity to experiment every week as I teach them about all aspects of science. You have given me the resources to teach students about a subject that they currently are not exposed to on a daily basis.

Again, thank you for funding this proposal. Also, thanks for helping parents, families, and most of all the students”

  • No More Worksheets!

    Funded Oct 2, 2008

Thank you so much for funding our No More Worksheets project. I have been trying to find some more hands-on ways to work with my students. The Independent Math Centers are great for Small Group Math time as well as math remediation time. We will use the Math Quiz Game Show to help review for our math tests (especially our first nine weeks test). I have also had many of my kids who really know there addition facts that are ready to move on to the concept of multiplication. The multiplication puzzles will be a good visual to help reinforce this concept. One of our hardest areas in math is regrouping. The pocket chart will allow them to physically show how they move to the tens place to borrow when they don't have a big enough number in the ones place. My students are going to be so excited when they find out that this project funded. Thank you so much for helping us out with our project. We really appreciate it”

  • Math Mania

    Funded Oct 2, 2008

Thank you so much for funding "Math Mania." My students will benefit tremendously from these hands-on materials. These materials will help drive home instruction and make math fun and enjoyable for the students. These math materials will also aid in small group instruction and reach all level learners. They will definitely help to improve the weak areas in math that our children are experiencing. Thank you so much for providing the funds for these materials that will enrich students' math experiences”
