My Students

My students live in an area where, without a car, getting to the library is impossible. We have a great school, an arts school full of imaginative minds, but our school has no library. To become lifelong readers they need access some relevant, engaging books now

Our art school attracts creative kids from all over the state.

Art school or not this is a high-poverty school and many students don't have access to books. There are also many students who are gay, so I have picked out a selection of books about dealing with coming out.

My Project

I have requested a wide selection of high-interest books that will spark my students' love of literacy. I have seen a great classroom library improve students' reading and comprehension. There is no better way to improve reading than to provide interesting texts to children.

I have seen the power of Donor's Choose before.
