This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I believe that my classroom is the second home for my students. I also teach them that we are a family. The materials that I am requesting for my students will have great effectiveness in our "home away from home". We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during mini-lessons, centers, and share time. My students in the past have worked very hard to maintain the cleanliness of the carpets in our room, however, the time has come for them to be replaced. The stools will be used by the students in small groups at our center tables, as well as at our small group table with the teacher. The alternate seating will allow students the flexibility to easily move seating around during small groups and during instruction.
The donations to this project will help my students to work collaboratively and authentically with me and one another in reading and writing.
Movement and collaboration are essential to my student's academic development. I want my students to become life-long learners and lovers of reading and writing. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide me and my students. Thanks!
