Scoping Out Cells

My students need a microscope that can view cell organelles, protists, fungi, and bacteria clearly. This microscope can be used in both Biology and Biology 2.

My Students

Make the invisible visible! Invisible things are abstract, hard to learn concepts to students. Our learners love to look at the small organisms through a microscope that cannot be seen with the naked eye. This scope will make even more parts of the cell visible.

Our students are a combination of public high school teenagers from four previously individual schools.

We have united to become one school. The area is very rural and the income of individual families range from poverty level to middle income level.

My Project

This microscope will allow students to see the smallest parts of the cell and to see the smallest of organisms. Bacteria, organelles, and chromosomes are difficult to see with a normal student microscope. This scope has two larger objectives that will assist in these activities. This microscope can be used in conjunction with an Elmo document camera and a computer to demonstrate the organisms to the entire class.

Please consider donating to this project.

This microscope will open a door to the smallest world for our students; moreover, it will create a huge impact on their scientific understanding.
