Children love doing anything hands-on. They enjoy exploring new ideas, especially in science. Unfortunately, we do not have the adequate resources to complete science experiments and to explore scientific ideas.
My classroom is self-contained and is made up of 17 very diverse students who come from all different types of socioeconomic backgrounds.
They love to work together in small groups and love to complete learning centers. This is their favorite part of the day! Our school is made up of over 400 students and is a pre-k through grade 8 elementary school. We have three classes in our grade level, and all classes would benefit from this library.
My Project
We are in an economically disadvantaged community; therefore, we do not always have the supplies we need. Students learn so much from hands-on activities. Our state standards require students to do these science experiments, but we are not given what we need to complete them. Often times, teachers are left to purchase the items out of pocket. Our class would be so appreciate of having these items! We appreciate so much all who work with DonorsChoose to make education a priority!
My students absolutely love science and love to create, experiment, and explore!
They love to learn! It is imperative in science to get to do these things. Lakeshore Learning creates great learning centers that students benefit from. Students will be able to use this library during learning centers and during small groups. We appreciate so much you taking the time to consider our project. These materials will make it possible for my students to get their hands dirty and explore!
