My students need replacement lab supplies and safe storage equipment for chemistry so that we can do more hands on labs and activities and stay safe while doing them.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Ever wonder what all the elements really look like? This is often a curiosity in my classroom. Students love the periodic table poster with all of the element pictures on it but it is so worn out that it is not serving its purpose any longer.

My students are amazing kids that really enjoy learning chemistry.

I try everyday to have labs and activities that make them think and explore the world around them in ways they have never done before. Our school is in a hard neighborhood but kids come from all over the district to go to school here. We are known for our academic excellence and our amazing students and staff. As a second year teacher I am proud to say I work here and feel lucky to have such a diverse group of students. Our students are unique because they are required to take physics, biology and chemistry to graduate. Most schools only require 2 years of science but we go above and beyond. We offer 2 levels of 1st year chemistry as well as the AP course. Not every kid is amazing in chemistry but in the end they like the subject and are always eager to ask questions.

My Project

I am requesting resources to help engage my students learning and provide a safe environment for them. The periodic table and demo a day book will help me to get their attention and hold onto it during our lessons. The other equipment like storage bottles, thermometer holders and pipette bulbs are things we will use to keep chemicals and equipment properly stored and give students more experiences with various types of equipment like pipettes.

I was lucky to get a job in such a great school.

It has much of the equipment that is needed in a proper chemistry lab but missing a few things I believe are essential. Please help us with our day to day activities and help my students stay excited about the subject by donating today!
