My Students

Help our students create beautiful music! We do not have enough instruments to provide to the students who cannot afford to rent an instrument privately. Every child deserves a chance to play music, and you can help.

My students live in a city in Upstate New York that has been hit hard by the state of the economy.

My band students are 4th through 6th grade and for most of them this is their first exposure to music in an academic setting. They are very eager to learn and are excited to play music and perform for their parents and for the community.

My Project

With these supplies, I will be able to have more students participate in our band program. They will be able to channel their creativity and create beautiful music which will be with them for a lifetime. They will also benefit from enhancing their fine motor control, playing together as a group and critical thinking.

Music education is critical to a well-rounded education.

The only thing standing between many of the students and their ability to perform is resources. Since many students cannot afford instruments and supplies, being able to provide reeds and instruments will greatly increase the availability of the music program to more students. I would love to provide access to the band program to every student that wants to be a part of the program and who wants to enrich their academic life.
