This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Imagine being able to learn about anatomy, physiology, first aid, and surgery by being able to virtually open someone up and get hands on experience. The Wii isn't just for gamers.
My students come from a city and a school that is attempting to not only rebuild itself, but re-imagine itself.
My students are looking for a reason to commit themselves to their educations. They are seeking inspiration. They want to learn. There is a part inside us all that just needs to know.
My Project
Since reopening after Katrina our school has, for the past 2 years, been building a health science program that will train our students for careers in one of the fasted growing industries in America - Health Care. Nursing has been the fastest for the past several years and at least 6 out of the top 10 have been health related.
This program, more than most, is meant to give these kids a future.
This project will take my kids inside the human body, teach them how it works, what can go wrong, and how to fix it.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
