"Science is not belief, but the will to find out." My students have the will to find out and I would love to give them the means to do just that.
My unbelievable students are the reason I get up with a smile on my face in the morning.
They are young, curious, and always keep me on my toes. As soon as I hook them on a subject, questions come flying at warp speed. They are survivors, coming from homes that don't have much. They support themselves, their siblings, but above all, each other.
Our school is made up of over 75% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. For many, breakfast and lunch at school is the only food they get in the day. At home, my students are often on their own. In my class, I try to give each student a safe place to learn. I strive to make my room a place where dreams are dreamed and futures are realized.
My Project
Science Education has not been a focal point for many of my students, and I try each day to introduce something new to them. This Earth Science Library would help to answer questions, support ideas and reinforce dreams. I have a strong passion for Earth Science and feel privileged to be the one who gets to introduce my students to this wonderful world of learning.
With this library, the learning potential is immeasurable. Reading is a wonderful pastime, and the pictures and descriptions in these books can do so much for young minds. I see this library as a place for enrichment, a place for inquiry and a place for young minds to open and see all that could be possible. No matter the color of their skin, the clothes on their back or the circumstances of their lives, my student's can be more and reach higher.
With your donation, my students will have a safe place of knowledge.
They will be able to research the concepts that interest them and show others the world of science. I have always believed that Science is the way of our future and it is my job to make sure the young minds of today have a place to live up to that future. Thank you.
