Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my special education students are also English Learners. These Thematic Units are a fantastic tool to allow students to practice communicating and retelling comprehension skills.

My students are in kindergarten and 1st grade and range from age 5 to 7.

I teach an SDC (Special Day Class) special ed class. My students have various learning disabilities including autism and mild retardation. Many of them are developing their pre-literacy skills and can identify their letters and some even know the letter sounds. We are really trying to develop a love of school and literacy in the children and these thematic units are fantastic.

My Project

Thematic units each provide about 2 weeks of concentrated focus on a certain topic. This package includes 30 of these units! It provides hands on activities and crafts that all center on the designated topic such as insects, shapes, colors, transportation, weather etc. I have seen these units and they are probably the most engaging and functional product I could ever get.

Your help will ensure that my students have the best possible opportunity to succeed and enjoy their learning experience.

These thematic units will be shared with the entire Kinder department (6 classes!) so the impact of this donation will be huge.
