I teach wonderful immigrant children who are transitioning their knowledge from Spanish to English in a dual language program in the heart of our nations capitol.
My students do not live in literacy rich environments. Please help me bridge this gap so they can continue to grow their language skills.
Many of my students have had little education before coming to this country. The picture dictionaries and thesauruses will be helpful for expanding their vocabulary. The children's books will increase their desire to dive into books, and the Harry Potter books will perk their interest in chapter books. The Washington D.C. books will be helpful in guiding them to what is this great city their families have chosen as their new home.
