This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach inner city 4th grade students who most of the time would rather be out doing something other than sitting at a desk all day listening to me.
Function tables, input/output tables, what? I don't understand. I hear that every time we do function tables. If you don't remember what those are, they are charts where on the top you have a number with some type of operation. Below that, you have 2 columns, the input side would be the other part of the problem and the output would be the answer. Games make everything more fun. At least that's what I've found with my students. When they have these games to play, they don't mind being in school.
By having a fun way to teach function tables, my students can go from confusion to understanding. Hands on games are a huge deal for those students who can't sit at desks all day long and just listen to me talk and put a few examples on the board.
Your help can help my students achieve understanding. I have a class of very "busy" students who need to be able to learn in a way that best suits them.
