This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am teaching an English Language Arts Resource Class to students with special needs. Our school is having a School-Wide Literacy Program and I want my students to be part of it. But they have to have Greek Mythology books that they can read at their current grade level skills.
No education is complete without a large slice of Greek mythology. I teach English Language Arts for my students with special needs, and as part of a School-Wide Literacy Campaign, our Middle School is going to require all students to read The Greek Mythology. I do not want my students to be left behind, so I need some Mythology books that I can use for my differentiated instruction. And there's no better way of meeting that literary quota than with these books that I am requesting. All the great gods and goddesses of ancient Greece are depicted in these, beautiful classic, lovingly illustrated and skillfully told Greek Mythology books that I am sure my students will enjoy reading.

The goal of this project is to increase reading levels and comprehension, and to expose the special needs students to classic novels as The Greek Mythology with differentiated instruction.
