This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I will be the new science coordinator at my school. The last science coordinator did not do that much and I am eager to do a lot to encourage children to do science. Classroom teachers focus so much on reading and math that science becomes an after thought.
In my school we do not have prepared slides or a microscope for student use. I believe this will inspire students to participate in my science class and make observations.
I need a big screen microscope to use for my students to do various science experiments I have planned out for this school year. Students will also be able to look at specimens up close. This will be the students' first time seeing a microscope in person and using one.
You will make it possible for my students to have a real science class. My state will be incorporating science into the state test in the near future and I would like to prepare them for that. They would love the experience to see a microscope for the first time and actually use a kid friendly one.
