My students are amazing and I want to help them become more amazing! I teach 2nd grade at a title 1 school. My students come from tough backgrounds and many are from very low income families. Many of the students have parents who speak little or no English which creates problems in getting the extra help needed at home. As a result, my students are very low functioning in both Math and English.
I am a brand new teacher with very few manipulative's for my students to use. They are so far behind in learning math concepts that we spend a lot of time relearning the basics. If I had manipulative's to help my students practice and learn basic addition and subtraction facts it would help them learn the higher order thinking concepts that I am trying to teach them.
I need a classroom set of addition and subtraction wrap ups. Wrap ups provide a fun and unique way to help students memorize their math facts. Students wrap the string from the problem on the left to the answer on the right, and then turn the Wrap-us over to see if they got it right.
They utilize many learning senses and are fun. My students would be willing to use them over and over until they master these facts. Each set covers 120 basic facts. The keys are self correcting so they can see what they've missed instantly.
