My goal for 2015 is to introduce my students to new art mediums that will provide them with endless possibilities to explore. My students will be learning art through a choice based classroom, students will have the choice to create their own artwork through the materials and resources provided.
My students come from low income and urban families; some even are homeless.
The school is located in the city of brotherly love, and I want to continue to spread my love for the arts and a healthy lifestyle to my students. We serve over 500 kids in our community and we feel strongly about providing a creative outlet for our students. Our school is dedicated to the process of making that happen but we need your help.
Finding a creative voice is difficult for some students. I am determined to help each child feel empowered to express themselves through the arts. If I am able to fund this project my students will be able to express themselves through a variety of art media. I believe the more options and materials that are available for my students will allow our creativity to flourish.
As the Art teacher I am responsible for creating a warm and judgment free environment, that allows my students to express themselves.
I want my students to feel inspired to create as they come to my class. The materials for this project will help those students that don't feel comfortable drawing/painting by providing computers with art programs to develop ideas. The funding for this project will provide the materials that we need to share our creativity with the school and our community.
