My classroom has a variety of strong characters. Students at this school have personality. It really shines through when they are making work in the art room. Many students come into this school with little to no art knowledge so, for the new students we are building a solid art knowledge base.
The more experienced students are starting to build their own style.
They have learned the basics and are working towards creating their own content. Like I stated previously, students at this school have strong personalities. They like to do things differently. More often than not, someone is asking me if they can do it their way.
My Project
These materials are for a variety of projects. For example, ceramics is taking its second run this year. Last year we did not have glaze. This year we still do not. We have been painting bisque ware with tempera paint. These materials that I have requested were beyond the art budget. They are materials that will help the students be able to create new more interesting works of art with new materials. I want them to experience ways of making that they have not heard of before.
These projects will make a difference because the students will have nice materials to work with.
They will have materials that they have not worked with before. This will be a huge factor in motivating these kids to create.
