Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
One of my favorite musical quotes is "Talking about Music is like Dancing about Architecture". That was said by Charles Mingus, a great jazz musician and bassist. I also believe it to be true. I think the best way to learn about music is to make it by using instruments.
My school's population is 100% Hispanic.
They are great kids and love music! The school is constantly active and there are always things going on in the school. My students are intelligent and are always looking for things to challenge them. We are a bit overcrowded, but we are in the beginnings of getting a new building which will help elevate the problem.
My Project
My students need music instruments (trumpets, trombones, xylophones...) as well as the required accessories that go with them. With these instruments my students will be able to create and discover the power of Music. These instruments will allow us to create multiple school bands ranging from concert, rock, jazz, and as well as mariachi. They will learn the ins and outs of creating music as well as learn how music plays a very important detail in their lives.
These donations will allow my students really start learning about music.
A lot of my students are already musically talented and having instruments and a place for them to grow and develop musically can lead to great things in their lives. No matter what their main focus in life is, music can also definitely help improve it.
