Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My kindergarten students are nonverbal and are autistic. Although they struggle with these challenges they are just as eager, if not more so than as any child to learn and progress in the classroom.

My kindergarten students are severely autistic and nonverbal.

Unable to verbally communicate understanding, wants and needs the learning process has indeed been significantly difficult for them. However, their desire to learn and appreciation for hands-on learning practices has been key to not only engage them in the learning process but also to build their level of comprehension. They excel with the hands-on technique to learning.

My Project

An iPad will provide my students with the ability to better engage on a one-on-one basis. The iPad will provide them with the to ability to not only engage but to learn as it hosts applications geared for academic enhancement. An iPad opens the doors for them to independently work and learn at their preferred pace while teaching/reinforcing areas related to academics.

An iPad would make a tremendous impact on my students ability to learn and progress as individualized learners and thinkers.

It will also enhance their ability to better communicate and comprehend targets tailored to meet their personal social, emotional, and academic needs.
