My students need a PA system to hear themselves as they truly sound! I have the most amazing student singers and musicians, but we cannot record or hear them!!!

My Students
Teaching music is a gift, but it is also a challenge bringing music from room to room, 3 flights of students in two different school buildings. Portability is key. Students do a lot of singing. We are lacking a way for soloists to shine and students to critique their classroom performances.
This year, I have students in grades K-2 and 5.
My students include students from across the globe, students with disabilities, integrated classrooms, and self-contained special education students. No matter who they are, they all love music class and appreciate the listening aspect of music. I have attempted many ways of recording students so they would have the opportunity to listen to and critique themselves, but so far nothing has been successful. Students deserve the opportunity to sound like "professionals," as they work hard toward that goal, no matter what grade they are in. That means getting on a real microphone and listening to more authentic recordings of their hard work.
My Project
I am requesting two types of portable microphones. One is for more accurate, authentic digital recording and the other is for performance purposes. Both devices are portable which means that all students will have access to these materials! Students will be able to hear soloists/groups live with the mic and portable PA system and also via playback, thanks to the magic of computers and digital recording devices like this one! This provides students with the ability to listen to themselves, repeatedly if necessary, which is helpful if I want to specifically guide them to one section of a song that needs to be worked on. Students will be able to reflect on their work, which is a critical aspect of learning!
These devices will enhance our school music program greatly.
I have tried to make music in classrooms as close to it would be in a regular music classroom, but the journey continues. These microphones would absolutely give students a new sense of pride in what they are able to do by allowing them to listen to themselves and actually hear how amazing they are!!!
