Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I am a 1st grade teacher at a Title I school. At our school we believe in the inclusion of all children in to the general ed classrooms.
I am moving to first grade and I finally will have the opportunity to teach science to my students. This is very exciting. Unfortunately science material is very limited. The first area of science I will be teaching is Environmental Science and there are no supplies to speak of. My students deserve every opportunity to experience and learn about science.
The resources that I need not only support Science the also support Literacy in my classroom. The first 2 items are book sets. The book sets will expose my children text rich books that explain about our world and our environment. The books will also expose my students to the importance of non-fiction text. The last two items go together. 1 Big Screen Microscope and the complete set of slides that go along with the microscope. This microscope and slide set will be a fun and engaging tool that the children can use to see parts of our world up close. All of the materials and tools will open up a world learning that many of these children never even new existed. Another wonderful aspect of the microscope and slide set this tool will make it possible for my inclusion children to interact and use equipment that they may never have had the chance to use.
You will make it possible for all my students to participate in learning about our world. Furthermore all of these resources will benefit each an every child. These children will get to study our world just like scientist to do. The help that you provide my students will help me open another door of learning and opportunities for these children.
